We are just into our last six months at Recreate and Make and we will be moving on when we reach our 4th anniversary in August. The shop environ is a lovely space to work in - so if you haven’t experienced it yet, come and join our fantastic band of makers, from beginners to advanced.

We want to let you know -we will be offering a final ‘Art Textiles‘ masterclass programme of courses, 1 day per month for 6 months, see our schedule of events.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the amazing talented clients we have met during our time here. That obviously includes all of the young people, whose creativity has been a delight.

Every first Saturday of the month 10-1pm we hold a MAKE session. This is where you bring your project for support. Please note you have to book at least a week before, if possible.
We cover hand and machine embroidery, dressmaking and pattern adaption. Customising, fine craft skills, Japanese boro mending, doll making, hat making, Machine needlefelting and design and much more. See some work examples below.
Remember you can use our modern machines or yours- our materials or yours- have a cup of tea and meet nice people and learn a life skill.

We are offering 6 masterclasses with Sarah Ames and Maggi Toner-Edgar. A specific programme for textile design and art to enable you to take your hobby or passion to the next level. This course is designed for textile designers, embroiders, dressmakers, quilters, and makers who would like to develop their ability to make artistic creations. Enhance your design, stitch and embroidery skills, some basic skills are required.

Dates: Course begins March 21st - Aug 15th 2026 – 6 taught sessions over a 6 month period
Time: 10-4pm 3rd Saturday of each month. See Schedule below.
