If I was planning my own wedding, here’s where I’d spend my money on flowers and where I’d save a bit!
Ceremony flowers
If you want that WOW factor, this is where I’d spend my money. Ceremony flowers can make such a difference, and if you can move them to your reception afterwards, even better!
Bridal bouquet
This is one thing I wouldn’t scrimp on. It’s your bouquet, so choose something you absolutely LOVE. It’ll be in so many of your photos, so make sure it’s one you really want.
Bridesmaid bouquets
If you’ve got quite a few bridesmaids, the cost of bouquets soon adds up. At £85+ each, I’d consider a single flower or a very simple bouquet instead. You could even reuse them as table flowers later in the day. Just a thought!
Buttonholes
I’m going to say it… has anyone ever left a wedding saying, “Wow, those buttonholes were amazing”? I’d stick to the groom and best man, and add mums and dads if you want to. You really don’t need one for everyone at the wedding!
Table flowers
You don’t need flowers everywhere! Simple bud vases with candles look lovely. Less is more, and sometimes keeping things simple is what makes it all come together.
Make the most of your flowers
Want to reuse your ceremony flowers at your reception? Ask your venue what they’re happy to move for you. For bigger or more complicated designs, you might need your florist to stay on all day and move everything, so remember to factor that into your budget.
At the end of the day, these are just the choices I’d make if it was my own wedding and id like to think ive got experience with weddings by now lol!. Everyone has different priorities, but you don’t need flowers everywhere to make your day look beautiful.
Where would you spend your flower budget?
