8 hours. Every night. No exceptions. 😴

Or maybe not…

New research is challenging the idea that there’s one perfect amount of sleep for everyone. 💤

Which makes sense to us.

Different bodies. Different routines. Different comfort.

So why would we all sleep the same?

There’s no perfect number.

And there’s no perfect mattress. 🛏️

There’s just the one that feels right for you.

Sleep made personal. 🤍

Oh yes!!! The first photos are back from the studio! 🦥

We're launching a brand mascot, Sid the Slumbers Sloth - and James absolutely loves the costume, which he'll be wearing every day as part of the new brand uniform! 😃

If you see him, be sure to give him a cuddle! 😍

Back sleeper? Let's talk support. 🛏️

When you sleep on your back, comfort is about feeling supported without fighting the natural shape of your body.

And that's where choosing a mattress becomes personal. 🤍

Firm isn't automatically better.

Soft isn't automatically more comfortable.

The right mattress is the one that feels right underneath you. 😌

Come in. Lie back. Take your time. 💤

Sleep made simple.

Finally! 🎉 The roadworks have eased and Blackberry Road & Peartree Road are open again.

It’s been a long five weeks, temporary lights remain for now, but Slumbers is fully accessible as normal.

Thanks, as always, for supporting a small local independent business. ❤️🛏️

Sleep on your side? 🛌💤

You're in good company.

It's estimated that more than 60% of adults sleep this way.

The important part is what happens underneath you. Your mattress needs to accommodate the natural shape of your body while giving you support where you need it. 🤍

Too firm can feel unforgiving.
Too soft may not give you the support you prefer.

The right one?

You'll feel it. 😌

📍 Come and find yours at Slumbers in Colchester.

How do you sleep? 😴 🛏

On your side? On your back? Curled up?

Somehow diagonal across the entire bed?

There isn't one perfect sleeping position for everyone.

How you naturally settle can influence the support that feels right for you.

Which is exactly why choosing a mattress shouldn't start with a specification sheet.

It should start with you. 🫵

Come in, lie down and take your time. 🛏

We'll help you find the one that feels right, not the one we want to sell.

🚧 ROAD CLOSED… BUT SLUMBERS ISN’T! 🚧

The roadworks are doing a fantastic job of making James wonder whether anyone remembers he’s actually here… 😂

The Fiveways junction is currently closed, which means there’s no access to us from Blackberry Road / Peartree Road.

But don’t let the ROAD CLOSED signs fool you — Slumbers is OPEN and you can still get to us! 🙌

🚗 To reach us:
Come via London Road, turn into Straight Road, then into Dugard Avenue and you can reach us from there.

So if you’re thinking about a new bed or mattress, pop in, have a browse and say hello. There’s absolutely no pressure and no pushy sales — just plenty of mattresses to try and friendly, honest advice.

And, more importantly… you’ll give James something to do. 😂😂

Thanks as always for making the little detour and supporting a small, independent local business ❤️

We’ve been helping Essex sleep better for over 25 years. 💤

Long enough to know that the right mattress isn’t found beneath a bright red discount sticker.

It’s found by taking the time to listen.

By understanding how you sleep.

By letting you try different mattresses, without pressure, until you find the one that simply feels right. 🛏️

At Slumbers, we’d rather offer genuine quality and honest value than inflated prices followed by impressive-looking discounts.

No gimmicks. No hard sell.

Just carefully chosen beds and mattresses, personal advice, and a family-run service that’s been part of Colchester since 2000. ❤️

Because a low price might catch your eye.

But quality is what you’ll feel every morning.

🚧 A little heads-up if you're planning a visit to Slumbers...

From Monday 20th July, the Fiveways Junction near our showroom is having a bit of a makeover.

By makeover, we mean roadworks, temporary traffic lights 🚦 and the sort of queues that give you enough time to listen to an entire podcast. 🎧

The good news is... you don't have to join them. 🙌

If you're coming to see us, we'd recommend taking this route instead:

➡️ Come off the A12
➡️ Continue along London Road
➡️ Turn right into Straight Road
➡️ Turn right onto Dugard Avenue
➡️ Follow the signs into Peartree Business Centre

🚗 You'll avoid the worst of the traffic and arrive with your patience still intact.

🗺️ We've attached a handy map to make it even easier.

Our showroom is open as usual, parking is still available, and we're ready to help you find the perfect foundation for a better night's sleep. 🛏️

Just allow a few extra minutes for your journey if you're travelling our way.

😊 We promise the beds are much more relaxing than the roadworks.
