The Pumpkin Centerpiece That Starts with One Simple Trick
What you need: One broad pumpkin with a strong upright stem, a small block of floral foam, a knife, pruning shears, sunflowers, chrysanthemums, smaller autumn flowers, eucalyptus, berry stems and dried grasses.
How to make it: Make a snug hole in the underside of the floral foam, sized to the pumpkin stem. Gently slide the foam onto the stem until it sits firmly above the intact pumpkin. Trim the flower stems and insert the largest blooms into the foam first. Add chrysanthemums and greenery around them, then fill the gaps with smaller flowers, berries and grasses until the foam is hidden. Keep the arrangement balanced so the weight of the flowers does not bend the stem.
