Herringbone flooring continues to be a popular choice! 👌

We're taking a look at four popular herringbone flooring options from V4 Flooring, each offering a different colour and character to suit your home.

From the rich, darker tones of Smoked Oak and American Black Walnut to the softer, more natural finish of Shore Drift Oak and the cooler tones of Misty Grey, there's plenty of choice when it comes to creating the right look.

Herringbone is a great way to add character and detail to a room, whether you're planning a new build or updating an existing space.

Which would you choose – Smoked Oak, American Black Walnut, Shore Drift Oak or Misty Grey? 👇

A closer look at another ensuite from this stunning new build in Kildress. 👌

The soft marble-effect tiles keep the room bright, with subtle warm veining running across the walls and floor. Paired with brushed brass finishes, a dark vanity unit and the curved shower enclosure, the finished space has plenty of contrast without feeling too busy.

We particularly like the brass tile trims around the shower area and recessed niche – small details that tie everything together.

The look of wood, with the practicality of tile. 👌

A great choice for this kitchen, with wood-effect tiles bringing plenty of warmth and natural character to the space. The variation through each plank gives the floor a convincing timber look and works particularly well alongside the neutral cabinetry and contrasting island.

Wood-effect porcelain is also a practical option for busy kitchens, giving you the appearance of a wooden floor with the durability and easy maintenance of tile.

This combination brings together different textures while keeping the colours warm and natural. Yorkwood Brown introduces the look of timber through the floor, laid in a herringbone pattern to add extra detail. Gravel Large Light provides a softer stone-effect finish, while Duo Deco Desert 02 adds texture to the splashback and creates a subtle feature behind the cooker.

Used together, the three tiles create a warm, layered kitchen without relying on strong colours or competing patterns. Pair them with soft cream cabinetry, natural timber details and warm neutrals to complete the look.

All three tiles are available to order from our Cookstown showroom.

A closer look at the main bathroom from this stunning new build in Kildress. 👌

Dark stone-effect tiles have been used across the walls and floor, giving the whole room a strong, consistent finish. Around the vanity, a contrasting stone feature tile breaks up the darker surfaces and creates a focal point behind the large LED mirror.

The warmer brushed brass finishes work particularly well against the darker tiles, carried through the shower enclosure, towel rail, taps and smaller details throughout the room. A niche with LED strip lighting above the freestanding bath finishes the space nicely.

A fantastic main bathroom and one of several we were delighted to supply tiles for throughout this Kildress home. More from this project to come.

A closer look at a bathroom display bay we recently supplied for KE Plumbing Supplies. 👌

The main stone-effect tile gives the display a natural, neutral base, while the smaller bronze-toned tiles introduce a completely different texture and colour through the shower area and illuminated wall niche.

The combination works particularly well with the bronze brassware and juniper green vanity, adding warmer tones against the lighter stone-effect walls and floor. Using the feature tile in selected areas rather than throughout also shows how a smaller tile can make an impact without taking over the whole room.

A great finished display and a good example of how contrasting tile sizes, colours and finishes can be brought together in one bathroom.

3 tiles. One bathroom. 👌

Using more than one tile in a bathroom doesn’t mean they all have to compete for attention. This space uses three different tiles, each bringing its own finish and texture while keeping the overall look consistent.

A larger neutral tile provides the main backdrop through the bathroom, a subtle stone-effect floor adds another layer of texture, while the smaller-format tile behind the bath introduces more detail and helps define that area of the room.

Keeping all three within a similar neutral colour palette allows the different sizes and textures to work together naturally. It’s a great example of how mixing tiles can add interest to a bathroom without making the space feel too busy.
