Over the next few weeks I’m going to take each archetype one at a time, starting with Bold.

Then I’ll introduce the three expressions that sit underneath each one, because that’s where the style becomes much more specific.

I want you to play along as we go.

Notice what resonates.
Notice what absolutely doesn’t.

I’m changing Tip Tuesday slightly.

Rather than just giving you isolated design tips, I want to start helping you understand your own design language.

Because once you know what you’re actually drawn to - and more importantly, why - choosing colour, furniture, materials and finishing details becomes much easier.

I’ve developed 15 Beaten Green interior style expressions, each with its own feeling, visual language and way of creating home.

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to start introducing them properly so you can work out where you fit.

And the useful bit is that this isn’t just about prescribing style, it also gives us a shared language, so when you bring me a Free Friday question, I can guide you towards something that feels more like you.

Or when you’re standing in a shop wondering whether that chair, lamp or paint colour is right, you’ll have a much clearer filter for making the decision.

There’s something special about swimming in Autumn - the water is colder, the beach is quieter and for a few minutes there’s nowhere else to be - especially on the glassy days where the air is as still as the water.

And then there’s that skin tingling moment once the decision is made, when every part of your body knows it’s about to get a reset.

I think that’s why I keep coming back to it each year.

Just sea, sky, breath and Mother Nature.

TIP TUESDAY | If you have a cashmere kitchen, don’t automatically reach for beige

Cashmere is one of those colours that can very easily end up feeling flat if everything around it sits in the same safe, muted zone.

What usually works better is choosing colours that either pick up its warm undertone or give it enough contrast to feel intentional.

Soft pink-based neutrals like F&B Great White or F&B Peignoir can sit beautifully alongside cashmere because they keep that warmth running through the room without making everything match.

Then, if the space needs more depth, a stronger colour such as F&B Sulking Room Pink can work brilliantly as a focal point - especially when there’s another strong contrasting element, like green, elsewhere in the room.

That’s when the scheme starts to feel designed rather than simply coordinated.

This week in the studio:

A meeting at a three-bedroom seafront property in St Ives, a second HomeFOLK Studio session booked in, and the beginnings of the Atlas Home Design Kit taking shape behind the scenes.

I’ve been working on the Atlas mood board, refining the style guide on the blog and thinking about how to create a design framework for a style that should never really look the same twice.

Because Atlas Home is built around personal history - The places you’ve been.
The things you’ve collected.
The materials you’re drawn to.
The stories you want your home to hold.

The point isn’t to create an “Atlas look”.

It’s to help someone recognise their own version of it.
