Low autumn sun, falling leaves and doors that bring it all inside 🍂

Autumn is a lovely time to see this CBP install. The low sun catches the stonework, the leaves pile up on the decking, and the big glazed doors pull all of that warm light deep into the house.

Slim grey frames run along the whole ground floor, so every room looks straight out onto the terrace and garden. Upstairs, the dormer windows bring in daylight from above. In the oak gable, a glass balcony gives the best seat in the house.

The finish suits the stone and timber perfectly. It feels modern, but it never looks out of place against a home with this much character.

As the evenings draw in, good glazing really earns its keep, keeping you warm while still letting you enjoy the view.

If you’re thinking about new windows or doors before winter, we’d be happy to talk it through.

Not just a view. A feeling of home.

You chose natural materials for the floor, the furniture and the finishing touches. Why stop at the window?

Internorm’s HF timber-aluminium windows combine timber on the room side with protective aluminium cladding outside.

Explore the character and design choices of HF 410, or the slim, modern sightlines of HF 510. Then make the finish yours… from oak, ash and walnut options to exterior colours and handles.

There’s substance beneath the surface, too. HF 510 has a published whole-window Uw value as low as 0.65 W/m²K, depending on specification.

At CBP, your Internorm Partner, we can help you choose the right model, glazing, opening and finish for your home.

Save the checklist for your project, or DM “HF” to start a conversation.

Would you build a window out of a saucepan? 🍳

Aluminium is brilliant at moving heat. That’s great for cooking, but not for keeping your home warm. Older aluminium windows had frames made of one solid piece of metal, running from your warm room straight to the cold outside. Engineers call that a thermal bridge. The result was cold frames, condensation, even frost on the inside. 🥶

The fix is a thermal break. 🔧 The frame is split in two and locked back together with a strip of tough insulating polyamide. Aluminium carries heat hundreds of times faster than polyamide, so the strip works like a firebreak. The inside stays warm, the outside stays cold, and it’s still one strong frame.

It’s what lets modern aluminium windows and doors keep the heat in and meet today’s building regulations, with all the slim frames and huge glass that make aluminium worth choosing.

Choosing aluminium windows or doors? Ask what’s inside the frame, or talk to CBP and we’ll show you.

When the doors fold away, the whole back of the house opens up 🍂

On this install, a set of bifold doors runs right across the rear of the extension. They all fold to one side, so when they’re open the opening is completely clear. Nothing sits in the middle to break the view.

The kitchen and dining space flow straight out onto the raised terrace. On a warm day, the garden feels like part of the room.

Around the terrace, we fitted frameless glass balustrading. It keeps the raised edge safe without blocking the view, so you can look out across the garden from inside or out.

The result is a light, open space that’s easy to live in and lovely to come home to, whatever the season.

If you’re planning an extension and want to make the most of your garden, we’d be happy to talk it through.

Buying new windows? Check the U-value. 🌡️

It’s the one number that tells you how much heat a window lets escape, and most people never ask for it.

🔥 What it is: how many watts of heat escape through one square metre of window, for every degree of difference between inside and outside.
⛳ Lower is better: like a golf score. Old single glazing is around 5, while a modern double-glazed window is around 1.2 to 1.4.
🔍 The catch: some quotes only show the centre-pane figure, for the glass on its own. Always ask for the whole-window U-value, which includes the frame and edges.
📋 The rules: in England, replacement windows must reach 1.4 or better, or a Window Energy Rating of band B.

A lower U-value means warmer rooms, less work for your heating, and less condensation on the inside.

Comparing quotes? Talk to CBP, and we’ll explain every number on yours.

Good windows and doors make a home feel right the moment you walk in 🍂

At CBP, we’re a family-run team based in Wiltshire. Our job is to help people find windows and doors that suit their home and the way they live in it.

Every project starts with a conversation. We listen to what you want, look at the property, and help you weigh up styles, colours and systems without any jargon or pressure.

Then our own fitters take care of the install with the same care, right down to the last bead of sealant. The result is a home that’s warmer, brighter and looks the part for years to come.

With the evenings drawing in, now is a great time to start planning. We’d love to hear about your project.

Dark on the outside, white on the inside, all in one frame 🖤

Dual colour frames let you choose a different finish for each side of the window. This CBP install shows why that works so well.

Outside, the dark frames add definition and stand out sharply against the warm red brick. They give the whole front of the house a smart, finished look.

Inside, crisp white frames keep the rooms feeling bright and neutral. They go with any decor and any colour scheme, now or in years to come.

So you get bold kerb appeal where the house faces the street, and a calm, flexible backdrop where you live day to day. Neither side has to compromise.

Wondering if dual colour could work for your home? We’d be happy to talk you through the options.

Three doors, one look, finished in RAL 7016 ✨

We fitted three RK entrance doors at this home in a village just outside Bradford on Avon. Each one has the same vertical boarded design and round porthole glazing, so the front, side and back entrances all feel like part of one plan.

The back door is a stable door, so the top half can open on its own. You get fresh air and a view of the garden while the bottom half stays shut, which is handy with pets or little ones around.

The RAL 7016 finish looks sharp against the Bath stone surrounds, and long bar handles add a modern touch. To finish things off, we designed and supplied the house signs too, with built-in LED lighting so they glow after dark.

If you’d like your entrances to feel properly thought through, we’d be happy to talk it through with you.

Condensation on the outside of your windows? That’s actually good news. 💧

Where condensation forms tells you a lot about your windows:

🏠 Inside: too much moisture and glass that’s too cold. Keep trickle vents open, use extractor fans and put lids on pans.
🌅 Outside: your glazing is keeping the heat in, so the outer pane stays cold. It clears as the day warms up.
⚠️ Between the panes: the seal has failed, so it can’t be wiped away and the window isn’t insulating as it should.

If your windows are misting between the panes, it’s a sign they’re due an upgrade. Modern windows keep in more heat, cut condensation on the inside and make your whole home more comfortable.
