A great afternoon with the Wednesday tribe. Pub lunch and then a natter in the beer garden with a bit of a sing along to the music playing on the big screen thrown in for good measure (complete with air guitar and invisible microphones).
People assume that a mental health and wellbeing group is going to be all doom and gloom......when infact that couldn't be further than the truth.

Good morning everyone and happy Wellbeing wednesday.😃

The majority of the uk just cant cope with a heatwave. Thats a fact.
For most of the year we survive under grey skies, drizzle and temperatures that require at least a jumper. We are not at all prepared for hot weather with our insulated houses, no air conditioning and relying soley on a ten year old knackered fan to push warm air around the room and convince us its cooling us down. 🥵
I considered setting up camp in the freezer aisle at tesco as heat radiated from me like the surface of the sun. Waterfalls of sweat pooling underneath my chin if i dared to move more than a metre from the fan, and my hair stuck glamourously to my forehead like a slipping toupee.
Im painting a picture with words that im sure many of you can relate to. You know me, always keeping it real🤣.

If you have not had at least 20 conversations over the last few days about the weather ....are you even british???
When a heatwave arrives its far more than a weather event, it is a national personality shift and a time of lots of theatrical suffering.
But......there is hope! After a couple of days of generating enough body heat to power a small village, the sudden cool breeze that we have been gifted this morning feels like a cause for national celebration!!!! 🎉
I have actually put make up on without the fear of it sliding ungracefully off my face . Our Mind It group are off to do what brits do best when the weather is nice....
We are off to the pub for lunch in the beergarden...where i am sure the ' hasnt it been hot' conversations will continue.
Good food, good company , and a cooler sunny day make for a lovely afternoon.
We are meeting at The Haden Cross pub at 12 noon if anyone else would like to come and join us.

Enjoy the breeze everyone.
Have a lovely wednesday. 🌞

I have just refilled my calm balm pot ready to teach you all how to make this on Tuesday evening.
There are so many balms available to buy but it is so much more special to know how to make your own. This way you know all of the ingredients and can control how much of each aromatherapy oil you use to customise your own calming balm.
We will learn about base butters, carrier oils and the benefits of each aromatherapy oil.
I may even disclose the recipes for my other wellbeing balms at the workshop!!

Good morning all and happy Wellbeing Wednesday. 😃
Today, 20th May , is World Bee Day!

We can learn a lot from bees.
Our Mind it group reminds a bit of a beehive.......

As bees go about their day, they pollinate flowers .
This ripple effect brings life and nourishment to the world without the bee expecting anything in return.
See, thats how kindness works too.
During our session today our activity will be kindness based.
One small act of kindness from one person to another creates that same ripple effect.

The honey produced by bees represents a reward through immense collective effort. By working together, and relying on each other bees create the sweet , healing resourse for many others to enjoy.

The bees each have a role for the good of the whole hive. They teach us that community thrives when individuals show up, contribute and treat each other with respect.

Much like bees all contribute to a collective harvest, a common goal, our mind it group members all play their roles and step in to fill different needs as they arise, whether that is listening, organising, or just bringing humour. Each role is invaluable to the team.
Our peer led wellbeing group tries to capture the balance between individual need and collective support. It encourages teamwork and support as we all work towards our common goal of improving our mental health.

Finally, bees are loving , peace keeping creatures....but they also have boundaries. They only sting when those boundaries are threatened!
We all need boundaries. sometimes we need to react when our boundaries are under threat.
AND THATS OK!!! Thats how we preserve our peace.

So.....whatever you are doing today. Have a wonderful wednesday and remember to make some time for you.

Those of you coming along to group this week , remember we have a change of activity and venue to the one listed. We will be at Cradley Heath sports and social club meeting at 12 noon.

Enjoy two hours of being creative!
£5.00 per person.

Tuesday 20th May
Social craft workshop.
6pm till 8pm.

As always , there will be a story behind the craft that we will be working on. This time we will be all about the symbolism of the moon and the butterfly. Diamond art is a relaxing and calming activity . We will be creating a beautiful wall hanging. There are still a couple of spaces if anyone else would like to come and join us .
£10.00 per person.

Wednesday 21st May.
MIND IT group.
12noon till 2pm.
Cradley heath sports and social club.
(There has had to be a change of activity to the one advertised for this week).
We will now be connecting with the residents at a local care home by decorating and writing cards with uplifting messages.
Receiving handwritten cards brings immense joy to the residents , often acting as a vital link to the outside world, particulary for those who don't have regular visitors.
We all know the importance of connection.
Hopefully this small gesture will make a powerful difference in brightening a strangers day.
£5.00 per person.

Just drop me a message if you would like to come along to any of this weeks sessions.
