Sunday afternoon is for planting out!

I wanted a seating area so I could admire the view and the farm and this white metal bench with arbour was perfect. I've planted a jasmine either side for coverage and fragrance. The border has alliums, lots of geums, agapanthus, poppies, echinacea, aquilegia, giant carnations, and Azaleas

Still very much work in progress but I'm looking forward to seeing how this fills out

Popped over to the farm this evening for a quick check and see if any damage control was needed.

Pleasantly surprised that everything is looking good considering nothing had been watered last week and the heatwave the UK was experiencing.

My phone just reminded me of these homegrown sweet peas from a couple of years ago. I didn't grow any this year but that hasn't stopped me from buying the seeds!

Second full day in Belgium and we've packed in a lot so far! The weather has been hot with temps peaking at 32° but we've stayed cool with lots of ice-cream and swimming.

Trip out to Bruges today was great; go for the pretty houses, the Belgium lace and waffles!

Let me introduce myself....

I've realised I have never introduced myself so hello, hi and welcome! 🤗 I'm Sophie, the founder of Sophie West Floristry, although over the years my business has been under different names. I started off as Flowers By Sophie when I was 21 when social media was just as young as me! I then opened a shop when I moved to Suffolk from SE London which became Paper whites, I was 28.

I took a little break from the floral world but dipped my hand in and out over the years...something kept pulling me back! 💐

I moved to Kent a couple of days before the first lockdown, had a baby and got married to Mr West. I rather liked my new surname and little family and so Sophie West Floristry was born.

6 years on from the first lockdown and I'm now venturing into the world of flower farming alongside my floristry, so come along with me for the ride...
