An afternoon of creativity at The Hideaway. 🕯️💫

Join ceramic artist Kay Naitby on Sunday 29th November for a two-part workshop creating your own ceramic tea light house.

Spend time working with clay, shaping and refining your piece before adding the finishing touches. A considered, hands-on experience in a relaxed setting, with refreshments provided.

A lovely way to spend an afternoon, or a thoughtful experience to gift this Christmas.

The group chat is fun, but this is better. 💫

We spent Sunday afternoon around the table, getting our hands into clay and creating our very own ceramic lanterns.

A lovely few hours of making, chatting and slowing down — with each lantern completely unique to its maker. 🕯️

Now they’re off to the kiln for their first firing, and we can’t wait to see how they emerge.

Part Two is all about the glaze — choosing colours, adding the finishing touches and bringing each lantern to life before its final firing.

Come and create your very own ceramic lantern in this beautiful, hands-on two-part workshop at The Hideaway.

PART ONE — Saturday 4th October | 12pm
You’ll work with clay using the slab-building technique, learning how to shape and construct your lantern before adding your own unique details and finishing touches. Your piece will then head off for its first bisque firing. 🕯️

PART TWO — Saturday 17th October | 2pm
A couple of weeks later, you’ll return to choose from a beautiful selection of glaze combinations before learning how to apply your chosen glazes and bring your lantern to life. 💫

Your lantern will then be taken away for its final stoneware firing, ready for collection approximately 7–10 days later.

We’ll always be drawn to pieces with a past. ✨

Treasures like this don’t come along as often as we might like, and when this graceful antique chaise longue found her way to us, we knew she marked the beginning of a rather special project. Her elegant silhouette had endured; all she needed was care, imagination and a new chapter.

With Rosalind’s instinctive eye, Sanderson’s richly patterned Stapleton Park velvet was chosen to make her a feature in her own right. Louisa at then brought her beautifully back to life, lavishing care on every curve, seam and length of delicate beading. 🪡🧵

Now she is ready to take her place beneath a bedroom window, at the end of a bed or beside a glowing fire—somewhere to linger over morning coffee, retreat with a book or simply pause for a while.

Romantic, characterful and entirely unique. A true one-off, awaiting the home in which the next chapter of her story will unfold.
