We had the vet out 6 weeks ago to trim back domino's horns, unfortunately they were already growing into his head again. The decision was made to completely remove the horns as otherwise we would have to constantly trim them and its not the nicest procedure for him. Hector is a fantastic vet, so caring and patient. He made sure domino had everything he could possibly need including long lasting pain killers, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and spray to keep away flies. He had full anesthetic so the sensation would be similar to getting a tooth pulled - unpleasant but not painful. He's far stronger than me too so if he really wasn't happy he would have been off! As it was he clearly knew we were trying to help him as he was very welbehaved. The holes will quickly heal over and within a few weeks you won't be able to see anything. And that way he won't need anything more done to his horns for the next ten (at least hopefully) years!
