Flowers for Susie

Flowers for Susie I create lighting, homeware, prints & occasion cards with a mid-century modern aesthetic.

Flowers for Susie was originally established in 2014 after the untimely death of my mother Susie from Bile Duct cancer. I set it up to raise much needed funds for AMMF (the only Bile Duct charity in the UK) by designing & selling/raffling creative products. In April 2020 after a change in my career, I decided the time was right to develop flowers for Susie as my business. After a year of hard wor

k whilst homeschooling the kids, I now have a small range of cards, prints and home furnishings that I sell through markets & my Folksy shop. Charity is still and always will be a big part of my business and I continue to develop projects every year with the sole purpose of raising money for the AMMF and maybe other charities in the future.

13 years todayšŸ’” it feels like a lifetime since I spoke to her, hugged her, laughed with her. 6 weeks after this photograph was taken we said goodbye to her one final time.
Always in our hearts and minds
She would be so proud of these boys and all they have achieved.

There are so many decisions to make for me right now. Having not created a new print for a while I’ve now worked on 4 at the same time - ooops.

Alongside trying to work out what prints to go with I’m also thinking of new labels.

It’s all in the details right?

Or am I being a busy fool adding a stitched label tea towel into the mix? 🤣

This week has been a crazy busy week juggling lots of projects so no time to put together slides to show you.
Grateful for beautiful Branksome beach to walk along this evening to unwind and relax.

Have a lovely weekend folks!

Look what turned up last Friday 🄰

I’m delighted with my new fabric trials and it’s so bloomin exciting to see my prints on fabric.
My problem now is which ones to choose 😬

Normally when I print my trials there’s a clear favourite but this time round I love them all in different ways .

I’ll have to sit with them for a little while and see if I can make a decision.

Busy day today printing and collating teeny tiny print mock ups to help me decide which colours and prints to trial. I’m such a procrastinator, especially when it comes to my prints. I’d prefer to print all prints in all@colours but that’s not how it works 🤣
A bit more pondering then I must decide.
These need to go out to the printers tomorrow

😩

Finally…
I feel like a weight has been lifted.

My eldest sons A’levels are Done. Supporting over the last school year alongside other work and life commitments has been intense.

Here’s to a more relaxed summer and I’m going to try and get back into Instagram posts..

I’m working on some new floral prints at the moment

Introducing ā€˜Lily pad abstract’
My mum Susie, like myself, loved Japan and all its incredible creativity. This print leans into that for me with its abundant forms and delicate detailing.

Can’t decide which colour I prefer so will probably decide after some textile trials.

DAY 5 of .amaker

A Maker I’m Proud To Own

Well I’ve actually chosen 3 as I couldn’t choose a favourite!

First up .
I’m so lucky to own a few of Keeley’s vases, some Christmas baubles and a set of her rings and I have to say they all bring me joy every single day. ā¤ļø

My husband bought me the necklace from Rachel’s collection and I have to say I adore it. I wear it nearly every day and it works beautifully with dresses and t-shirts alike ā¤ļø

I have a gorgeous snood my Anna which I bought in October 2024. Glorious colours, great quality, perfect size - I love it.
