The countdown is almost over, the sun is expected to shine on Sunday at 19 degrees, and the kettle is almost on. ☕

We are so looking forward to welcoming you to the Orroland Estate this Sunday 21 June from 2pm to 5pm.

A few friendly reminders for a relaxed afternoon:

Four-legged friends: Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome to explore the paths and shoreline with you. 🐾

Payment: We ask you to bring cash for entry, the plant stall, and activities.

Footwear: We recommend sensible shoes or boots so you can comfortably explore the woodland trails right down to the rocky seashore.

Come to slow down, recharge, and enjoy the magic of the estate in bloom. See you on Sunday! 🌸

The blackbirds are always very busy in our garden. Just before this, the male blackbird stood directly in front of me shouting as I came out of the back door and his partner was close by calling as well. I soon realised that there was a fledgling blackbird in the grass nearby. He continued his warning cries even after the youngster moved away into the flower bed. The blackbird parents have been keeping watch ever since, often perched on the top of the washing line pole.

Today is Mature Moggies Day. This is Dalbeattie Wood's Misty cat, 17 in a few weeks time and ruler of all she surveys. She likes to oversee when we're varnishing our nature exploration products in the garden and is good at quality control. Although she does fall asleep on the job sometimes. And when we're working on the table she has to lie on everything and of course any laptops, notebooks and paper are fair game and have to be sat on and covered in cat hair. We wouldn't have it any other way 😊
