Finding hidden treasures in the office this morning!

Delighted to say that we have been award winners since 1997! Founder Norrie (the handsome chap second on the right) was awarded Start-up Business of the Year in 1997 by Edinburgh Evening News. We are delighted that almost 30 years later Kristoffersen's has extended to include 6 shops around Edinburgh and the Lothians and continues to win awards for our service to our local communities.

It's great to find reminders like these, making us grateful for those before us and proud to continue the Kristoffersen legacy!

Been a little while since we introduced you to someone new.

Meet Stevie, our Portobello Manager. Stevie has a strong history in sales, and in the last 10 years has specialised in flooring. Stevie has been with us for 4 years now, and we are delighted he is part of the team.

Living locally, Stevie is dedicated to the Portobello community, going above and beyond for his customers, dropping off samples or personally coming out to complete a measure. After spending a day in the shop, you will see that he is valued by the community, with many people popping in for a quick catch-up.

Stevie knows about all things flooring, from carpet and vinyl to LVT and engineered wood. He is your man. Pop into his shop to say hi and get started on your flooring journey.

Galashiels Ex-Service Pipe Band is proudly celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, making it one of the oldest continually operating pipe bands in the world!

Kristoffersen's are proud to be a patron of the Galashiels Ex-Service Pipe Band. Our Galashiels Manager, Dave, was a piper himself, so he was delighted to support his local community and continue promoting piping.

Everyone in the band would like to say a huge thank you to Kristoffersen Carpets & Flooring Ltd for their extremely generous donation and for becoming a patron of the band!
We’re genuinely overwhelmed by the amount of local businesses stepping up to support us.

You have heard us talk about underlay, but what does it actually do?

Underlay is great for increasing the comfort underfoot while absorbing the heavy footfall, reducing the wear on your carpet and extending its life span. Furthermore, it improves sound absorption and insulation and heat retention. 

You will see we love working with Tredaire, with their Softwalk underlay being our go-to option. If you have any more questions, pop into one of our shops where one of the managers will be happy to talk you through our underlay options.

A couple of weeks ago, we shared a beautiful LVT staircase, which has now had its finishing touches. Our customers opted to have a bespoke runner created to complement the natural tones in the wood.

Working with our managers in-store, they were able to compare various samples, ensuring they were happy with the combination they were choosing.

We are starting to see a shift towards warmer, natural tones, with warm-toned wood and green and beige carpets increasing in popularity among customers.
