Day out by the sea.

Hoping for a good day filled with chats, laughter and of course a few sales to keep the tea and bickys flowing in the workshop.

Trust you're enjoying your weekend.

It's like musical chairs

Only It's 'happy thoughts ' moving around trying to find a space where they can look their best.

Mostly I try to keep colour groups together as that's easier on the eye. It also allows me to display different finishes or techniques without pieces looking out of place.

On this shelf we've got iridescent paint on a platter. Crackle paint on a plate. A colour pigmented resin dish and ink in resin on the box lid. All different but sitting well together.

Hope they brighten your day.

Bespoke Art.

Love making these decorative shields. I wanted a couple of smaller versions to take with a larger one at the weekend.

The dark moody one floats my boat. Let's see if it floats yours over the weekend.

New Venue.

Next weekend you can find us @ Kelburn Estate along with many other talented artists.
It feels like forever since we were last out and about so really looking forward to seeing you there and displaying some of the new pieces I've been working on recently.
For full disclosure there is a parking fee for access to (and maintenance of) the estate which gives you access to a variety of attractions making for a great day out.

Filling a hole in the heart

It's been busy these past few weeks with one thing or another but there's always time for making a happy thought.

Today's offering a chunky piece of oak in all it's uniqueness fashioned into a hanging heart. I did initially anticipate this piece would rest on it's side on a shelf but it probably works better as a piece of hanging art.

We've got some markets coming up and a display to organise for over the summer which I'll update you about over the weekend.

Here's hoping we get the summer weather back.

Red hot resin pours

This morning has been busy getting stock made for some upcoming events and 'the Crafty Coo ' later in the summer.

This afternoon I choose to sit in the garden and soak up the rays from that seldom in Scotland seen golden glow in the sky. Well it's definitely more fun than working in what feels like a dark cave on a day like this.

Back to it tomorrow.

A little bit of magic.

Here I am minding my own business when I spotted this wee happy thing.

Love makes it's presence felt in many unique and beautiful ways.

2nd look worthy.

The last couple of pieces updated on the website today.

If you have any suggestions on what you might like to see on the website you can comment or drop me a message. P&P is free in the UK.

I appreciate sometimes it's good to see items before jumping in and buying so please remember the Studio is available for visits by appointment.

We're not out and about much over the next few weeks so it's head down and start making new 'happy thoughts ' for our summer display in the 'Crafty Coo in Ayr '

Anyway thanks for taking the time to stop and look. Hope you have an amazing weekend.

It's been a warp factor 5 kind of day.

Super busy day harvesting the Sycamore logs from our tree that got topped maybe 5 years ago. Lots of bowl blanks and there should be some interesting vases as well. Lots of little offcuts with spalting which I'm sure I'll find uses for somewhere in time and space. But you don't want pictures of that.

You would far rather the 2nd installment of updates on the website.

I'm going to leave pieces on the website for maybe 6 to 7 weeks and then rotate. I'm making the conscious decision to try and keep things fresh.

Anyway hope you enjoy- thanks for stopping by.
