APM Design are heading to the Lakes Hospitality Trade Show 2027! 🏔️

As a proud northern company with a love of the Lake District, we are incredibly grateful to work in this beautiful region transforming some of the most inspiring hospitality spaces across the region — from hotels and restaurants to guest spaces, bars, offices and leisure environments.

To celebrate our involvement in the show, we are sharing a selection of some of our favourite Lake District projects — showcasing the different approaches, materials, details and design ideas that have helped bring these spaces to life.

We're proud to showcase the completion of one of the UK's estimated 2,000 fully off-grid homes—designed from concept to completion and fully project managed by APM Design.

This home demonstrates how modern design solutions can create a comfortable, high-performance living environment with minimal reliance on external utilities.

Key features include:
• Full PV solar electric system with battery storage
• Solar assisted heat pump
• Rainwater harvesting system supplying household grey water
• Private spring water supply with advanced filtration
• Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
• Starlink satellite internet and TV connectivity
• Private BioTec sewage treatment plant
• Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUD) resin bound driveway
• Recycled and locally sourced materials wherever possible
• Local trades employed throughout the build

Every element was carefully considered to deliver a home that is energy-efficient, resilient, and built with sustainability at its core.

Those of you who have visited our Darwen Studio material sample library may recognise one of Design Director Andy's hand-drawn sketches, dating all the way back to the late 1980s — created for an 'Alien'-themed nightclub project in Greater Manchester.

Almost 40 years later, we've beamed it into 2026 as a full CGI visual... we hope you enjoy seeing the transformation.
