Pebble & Pooch Original artworks and doggy designs from Dawlish in Devon - 10% donated to Schnauzerfest.

We are based in Dawlish, Devon and have two Miniature Schnauzers, Sally and Nova. In 2019 we produced over 100 little slate Schnauzer paintings which raised in excess of £600 for our sponsored charity, Schnauzerfest. Schnauzerfest has been close to our hearts for several years, and in 2019 we adopted puppy farm rescue, Nova, from Diane Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre (DBARC). Both charities do a

tremendous job in helping dogs that have come from puppy farms, ex-breeders that have been breed intensively for profit or mistreated. Dogs are loyal, loving creatures and as I'm sure you'll agree, deserve better. We continue to support the charity, by hosting charity walks locally (when able) and by donating 10% of all our sales. We very much hope you like our little characterful paintings, they are unique and come to you with much love.

We love to paint miniature 'people' portraits too 🥰

This was a little birthday gift painted for my friend (and fellow Nanny) Julie.

Julie recently had to change her car, and was sad, as her dad had travelled in her old one, so it felt rather raw and poignant.

Terry can now go in the new car, with his cheeky grin, albeit in paint form 🥹

As we all know, grief comes in waves. 😥

This month we are making our donation in memory of Merlyn.

We painted this little lad a few years ago, so sad to hear he'd passed away 🥺

Sending £49 to Schnauzerfest and I believe his mum has made a donation too 🧡🙏😘

Introducing two new greetings card packs 🥰

These are based on some of my rainbow dog paintings.

I've tried to choose a good selection of dog breeds, so something in each pack for all your dog-lover friends.

Each pack has 5 designs, include envelopes, and cost £6 per pack. That's just £1.20 per art card!

With p&p for one pack starting at £2.

Extra packs, 2+ please add a further £2 (so £4 postage in total). Hope that makes sense?

In June, we were lucky enough to be part of a 'Pay it forward' draw in support of Schnauzerfest

A kind supporter donated money to buy gift vouchers from three small businesses, who also support the charity.

We are delighted to say, we have now completed the artwork for the winner of our voucher!

Congratulations to Hilary and all the winners, and a massive thank you to everyone who donated.

The draw raised £610 to help Schnauzers in need.

Here is Hilary's painting of Maisy and Pearl, enjoying the garden together.

This one has been a difficult commission 🥺

Three beautiful dogs, all over the rainbow bridge. Yes, including the puppy...

My customer, the lovely Jodie, agreed I can tell you the very sad story of little Nala.

Having lost Shadow and more recently Blue, Jodie decided the time was right to get another dog.

Unfortunately for Jodie, she was the victim of an unscrupulous 'low welfare' breeder. 😡

Poor little Nala, was sold before 8wks, had a number of medical issues, including Parvovirus. She died within a few days...

Devastated by her sudden death, and with help from her vets, Jodie reported the puppy farmers to the RSPCA. The charity acted quickly, and removed a further 30+ dogs from kennels. They hope to prosecute.

As Jodie says, "It doesn't get my girl back, but hopefully stops others having to go through the heartache. 😭

As hard as it is, always report if you suspect foul play. We must stop these terrible cruel, breeders, who only care about profit.

Apologies for the radio silence, we've had our little grandson staying with us, his first trip to Devon!

All the paints, pens and arty stuff, was packed away to make room for all the bits and bobs a baby needs!

He's absolutely gorgeous, and I will have to do a little sketch or painting soon 🥰

Before he arrived, and following up from my visit to Amelia's Flower Farm, I painted this Dahlia.

Spent a lovely afternoon at Amelia's Flower Farm today.

It was the venue for the Teignmouth Art Society Plein Air sketching session.

It's an absolutely beautiful setting, but the drought hasn't helped with the flowers this year 😕

Despite this, there was still lots to see, and there is a lovely coffee shop too. Well worth a visit if in the Teignbridge/ South Devon area.

Dahlias are my favourite 😍
