You may have noticed I’ve been quiet on here for a few weeks.

Four weeks ago, we said goodbye to our sweet girl after fourteen and a half wonderful years together.

I’ve shared little glimpses of her over the years in my stories, supervising furniture staging, inspecting flowers I’ve painted and joining us on countless walks through the countryside that inspires so much of my work.

What many of you won’t know is just how much of my life and creative journey she’s supported.

She’s been here before many of the paintings you’ve seen and before many of the pieces that found their way into your homes.

She’s been here through the rollercoaster of life, seasons of growth, challenges, celebrations and everyday moments.

She’s been here through a huge chunk of our marriage and our sons’ lives. Our home is just not the same without her.

If you’ve ever loved and lost your best furry friend, you’ll understand that they are never “just a pet”. They become part of the rhythm of our lives don’t they. Part of our memories. Part of who we are. And to be honest, I’m a bit lost without her 💔

This reel is a small celebration of a very special girl, a life very well lived, and a heart very deeply loved by us all.

Thank you, sweet girl 🤍

And thank you to everyone who has shown kindness during my time away.

Sam xx

Painting my way to uncomplicated and simpler times, freedom and nature, new beginnings, friendship and love.

Letting myself dream whilst painting a little daisy chain in watercolour.

What emotions and memories do daisy chains bring to you?

Bold and bright 💜

A lovely day spent painting alliums in acrylics.

Painted during a Kara Strachan Art ‘Textured Alliums, Bold and Bright’ workshop. Thanks Kara.

Kara’s work is breathtaking, and her acrylic workshops are brilliant. Check them out on Kara’s website and page.

Watercolour painting in progress.

Painting pink poppies slowly, petal by petal. Letting each petal settle before adding the next.

This is my favourite part, watching the watercolour pigment bloom out to form its own soft shape.

Here are my watercolour pink poppies, with their delicate petals, bendy stems and buds.

If you’ve just come across my account - Hi, I’m Sam and I’m a painter of flowers, home décor and furniture. I’d love it if you’d follow along and share in my passion for flowers and all things sustainable and meaningful for your home 🌿🌸 xx

This is where my work begins, watching the light move across petals ✨

A quiet moment at Chatsworth, observing, slowing down, noticing details that are easily rushed past.

Every piece I paint is rooted in moments like these, translated into something you can live with every day.

A small pause. A sense of calm. A connection to nature, at home.

If you’re drawn to this kind of calm, my work might resonate with you 🌸

Are you drawn to bluebells too? 💙

Painted three ways: a watercolour study, a woodland acrylic (created during a workshop with Kara Strachan Art) and a quiet botanical piece.

Which draws you in? 1, 2 or 3?

In times of challenge, I’ve found myself drawn back to nature 🌱

To quiet moments.
To sunlight on petals.
To the simple comfort of a cup of tea in the garden.

Two years on from finishing treatment, and after another recent surgery, I’m once again learning the rhythm of rest… and return.

Slowly, gently, I’ve begun painting again.

These small botanical paintings have become more than just practice. They’ve been a way to reconnect. To find calm. To create something soft and hopeful, even in uncertain moments.

Each piece is inspired by that feeling.
A sense of peace. Of comfort. Of quiet resilience.

My hope is that when they find their way into their new homes, they will bring a little of that with them too - a small reminder of beauty, even in the hardest seasons.

If this resonates, I’d love to know - what brings you a sense of calm when life feels overwhelming?

Thank you so much for being here, whether you’ve followed my journey for a while or you’re new, it truly means a lot 🤍

If you’re going through something difficult right now, I’m sending you so much love xx

Small watercolour wildflowers, painted for gentle homes and thoughtful gifting.

This red clover watercolour collection is based on the feeling flowers bring into a space. Something soft, simple and quietly uplifting.

Each piece is hand painted, taking time to get the colour, detail and finish just right.

The clover is my own four-leaf version, a small nod to luck and hope ✨🍀

Nothing over the top, just pieces designed to sit comfortably in your home, or be given to someone who’d appreciate them 💝

Which piece would fit your home best?
