I refurbish a lot of lampshades and for once I remembered to take a before image!
This one was the original lampshade from a family heirloom lamp and was returned to the owner last week after being recovered in James Hare Astor (a faux silk for longevity). I also added a silky lining and resprayed the yellowing gimbles.

A new creation, but using all vintage materials including original vintage 1980’s cotton sateen fabric. I adore this colour combo of steely-blue and salmon-pink, and the pleat effects works well to reign in the blousy 80’s florals so it’s not too overly chintz.

Having been rained off on our afternoon walk (I’m happy enough but the hound not so!) I’ve finally found time to add a new page to my website where you can order bespoke lampshades in your own fabric. Simple place your order and send me your fabric!

The Summer evening light is always fabulous for product images, with just one small grey shadow creeping in 🐾 🐕
I wasn’t convinced when the fabric arrived that this larger scale ‘Strawberry Thief’ would be a good choice but I’m won over and love that if has a more contemporary feel than the smaller, busier prints. I’ve lined the lampshade in a rose-gold silky fabric to diffuse the bulb light with a warm glow for incoming cosy evenings.
