My favourite type of funeral arrangement is the one where the family can share the flowers after the ceremony. What better way to enjoy the flowers for the longest time than by including potted plants?
The idea of combining potted plants with cut flowers has Victorian roots — though the term 'Pot-et-Fleur' itself wasn't coined until 1960. This arrangement was created in four separate modules. Three of the four modules are being planted in family gardens and the fourth will be arranged in a pot so that it can be moved when required.
I have lived in Derby for nearly 40 years but have only just discovered https://www.facebook.com/hudsonspc who have the most amazing selection of beautiful plants. I was delighted to have the excuse to pay another visit (who really needs an excuse to go to a garden centre?) and buy the plants for this arrangement - topped up with foliage and flowers from my garden.
Would you want the flowers shared after your funeral?
