DEE-LIGHT TEARDROP CARAVANS NI
My names is Harry Wilson and I am a coachbuilder by trade. In 2013 I was inspired by a programme Ade in Britain where Ade Edmundson toured around Britain in a Teardrop Caravan and as a result I went straight away to my workshop and began planning to build my own. My wife Christine and I were invited to the Holiday World Exhibition - the idea being that I would build these for those who enjoyed and appreciated the concept. I have now built 10 - for me it is a labour of love as I do enjoy making them by hand to the needs of the individual customer.
The teardrop caravan basic model is what you see from the outside with the inside panelled out and are ideal for just throwing a mattress in the back to sleep in - very simple- this includes 2 porthole opening windows on the sides and a back door. Roof ventilation is included. There are lots of colours to choose from and graphics can be added to personalise or indeed to advertise a business. I myself use a basic model in connection with my other business Dee Light Furniture Facelifts Ni. This model now starts at £4950.
Most customers prefer to have additional extras and the final cost will depend on what the customer wants their Teardrop to look like and what they need for their entertainment and comfort. Additional extras include: Upholstered seating which converts into a 6ft x 4 ft double bed - carpet - storage units - Freeview TV/DVD player with ariel - cool box - Kitchen galley at the rear - drink holders - optics - mains electricity for campsite - 12 volt battery -radio and speakers plus a port for computer - led lighting - this is not an exhaustive list as customers keep coming up with other ideas! It is entirely up to the customers to choose from what is available and customise their colour schemes(upholstery and carpet etc) and graphics if required. Once built, the Teardrop must undergo an IVA - this is a one off examination by the DVLA and a certificate is issued - this is a legal requirement and is included in the price and we will ensure this is completed before the owner takes possession of the caravan.
