I decided against doing the Sirdar Christmas CAL this year as I wasn’t overly keen on the design and didn’t know who I’d be making it for. Instead, I opted for the West Yorkshire Spinners ‘Baubles and Bows’ CAL, but used Stylecraft Aran instead of West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab because the real wool that is used in ColourLab makes me itch.

I’ve really enjoyed doing this but it has taken way longer than planned because it is all tapestry and intarsia - it’s taken me 9 weeks instead of 4 to complete all the panels. Now just to get them joined together and the border done - it needs posting by next weekend!!

I’ve just realised that I never posted the rest of the Sirdar Summer crochet along summer picnic blanket… and I’m busy making Christmas blankets already!

It was absolutely huge by the time all component parts were crocheted together and it was bordered - it pretty much took up the whole of our living room floor!
