Ready for playtime.
Children’s what’s in the box game, based on a period 1930 to 1945 Police Call Box design.
These things acted as a constable’s call box pre walkie talkie days, as bad weather refuges, report writing rooms and public assistance points.
Whilst they were exceptionally well built, they were built quick, with little attention to exact right angles etc, with most of the joinery being ‘eyed in’,
So that’s what I’ve done here - everything by eye rather than measurement, to recreate that authentic, slightly wonky or irregular look.
The wording on the public phone box on the front is original wording from 1939.
I had a problem of how to recreate the rooftop beacon, but then had a brainwave - the bottom of a plastic water bottle cut off.
This one isn’t for sale, it’s to be donated to South Yorkshire Police, but they may be pushed for sale here soon either in the game form you see here, or as a complete box ideal for a man cave, office, bar etc.
They’d be priced at £100 as an introductory price.
