So here is my little gonk with an upgrade…

It’s not done yet. I’m still working on a better colour for his sign post as I don’t like it as it is.

I think I’ll slightly reposition it too but I like the idea. 💡 good to hand write some personalisation like “best dad” or a teacher gift…

I want to have a go with different hair do’s too to make a more girlie version; maybe some flowers. Don’t know.

It’s going to be a bit cooler next week so will take longer to make a small batch to cure enough to get to painting.

What do we think though? I can still make these christmasy too but I wanted to make him a little more versatile for all the seasons

I’m aware I’ve been missing in action for quite some time 👋🏻

Things all got a bit too much while I was juggling all of life’s plates. I’ve been trying to improve my health which I’ve really been struggling with this year so I just needed a break.

Truth be told; I was starting to get stressed out with my sewing rather than enjoying just creating. Constantly trying to think of new things & push myself. Making things to fit a narrative that I just don’t belong in.

Today is the 1st day I’ve contemplated anything craft related. So I chose to go back to one where I don’t have to think too much, I get to go slowly but still get to make something new from what I already have made before.

So sewing is on a pause for a while now. I will get back round to it at some point… but for now I’m just getting my mental health and physical health back on track.

I hope you’re all still here… I’ll be back when I’m next taken by the crafting urge 🩷

I’m very aware I’ve not been on here much nor have I picked up a single craft.

Been feeling really blurgh lately and I think although mostly contributed to because of perimenopause; I think my general lifestyle has been adding to it.

So on Sunday morning I decided to have a break from my wine to try and just clear some of the extra belly and brain bloat.

It’s day 5 and although I’m seemingly still waking up feeling like I downed a bottle of vodka, I’m starting to feel a little more motivated.

So hang tight - hopefully I’ll get some sparkle back in my craft life soon

I think my body is giving up on me lately. I’m being struck by some god awful pain today which the GP couldn’t see me for this morning; so trying again tomorrow.

So yet another day away from the sewing machine! Wondering if I’ll ever make it back at the minute…

Update on little Peter though - he’s doing great! I’ve asked to bring him back for when he is released 🩵

A not so quiet weekend.

From out, out drinks yesterday where my only photo was of the hundreds of beer mats on the ceiling; to holding a sleeping baby greenfinch today who I’ve named Peter, until rescue arrives

We think he’s been pushed as he has a lump on his neck… but he deserves a chance in my books!

Still pooped! I wanted to do a bit more practice writing. I might, I might not.

Mya came home from the child-minders with many drawings today… and one of them had an uncanny resemblance to my favourite gonk!

I may season him up a bit so he’s an all year round decoration… maybe. Maybe not 😂😂

As suspected - I am quite literally exhausted! And I was in bed by 10ish 😂😂

Although I already knew, but I’m MASSIVELY unfit and if you’ve not been to Birmingham before (and pack your whole wardrobe for one night) but it is really hilly and my legs are killing me!

So hoodie on; hair up and shades to help reduce the swirling migraine!

This may take a week to recover from 😂😂

So although I’ll be away this week… I can still get the brain power over thinking 😂So what’s next? Another grown up hoop...

This week is going to be a no go for anything really…

I’m away with work Wednesday & Thursday so I need to squeeze more work in and make sure everyone will survive one night without me 😂😂😂

Then I’ll be absolutely shattered for a minimum of 2 days….

I did finally get one of my little cake buntings in a cake (I’m sure I made this like a year ago 😂😂) for little Livvy’s 5th birthday! Who I might add is an absolutely angel! 😇 her mother will strongly disagree 😂

Cake buntings are all year round available (except this week lol) so if you want one, drop me a message 🩷
