Starting A Business Isn’t That Scary…👻

I used to be so scared of just the thought of creating a business 😬

That led to a spiral of self doubt and just not feeling that it could be possible 😞

It wasn’t until the worst thing happened to me and I was at my lowest that quite honestly it felt like I had nothing left to lose 💪🏻

And it was then that I didn’t feel scared about it and I went ahead and started my business 👏🏻

Which I soon came to realise I’d wasted years of my life feeling scared over something that’s not scary at all 🤦🏻‍♀️

I started my business with the help and support of the King’s Trust and they were just so encouraging 🫶🏻

Now trying to grow your business and your skillset as a business owner is really hard but I still wouldn’t say that’s scary 👩🏻‍🎨

Because you’re experiencing what it’s like to live your dream and that passion and determination to succeed really keeps you going 💚

Now I also wouldn’t say that if my business failed and I had to give it up that would be scary

I’d still be doing my business but it’d go back to being my hobby so why would that be so scary? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I guess the fact I don’t find any of these scary says more about me than the things themselves 👩🏻‍🎨

I’ve grown in confidence, widened my skillset, have self belief and my resilience is stronger than ever 💪🏻✨

Christmas Card Help Or Just Humour? 😂

The Christmas period is always a busy time for me at Holly’s Handmades 22 🎄

And my mum kindly offers help like doing some stalls for me 🫶🏻

So I decided to let her loose on creating some Christmas cards for us to each do together 💌🎄

I gave her some blank cards will all the different things I use to create the cards

And well… you’ll see how exactly that went and whether she was a real help or just added humour 😂💚

Happy 4th Birthday To Me 🥳👩🏻‍🎨💚

Today marks 4 years of Holly’s Handmades 22 👏🏻👏🏻

I’m so incredibly proud of myself for making it this far AND still not giving up ✨

I’ve celebrated in style at the networking where Ryan kindly made me a special screen in celebration 🫶🏻

I made cupcakes where some included broccoli icing 🥦🥦

Which if you didn’t know I’m obsessed with and the green goes with the business too 💚

But it wouldn’t be me without making everyone sing happy birthday to me 🥳

It’s taken so much for me to get to this point that I will not be proud of myself 👩🏻‍🎨✨

I’m truly excited for the further growth and plans I have for next year ✨👩🏻‍🎨

But I do want to thank all those that have supported me and my business over the years 🫶🏻

I am just so grateful for you all and the amazing friendships I’ve gained 💚✨

I Learnt The Hard Way…Just Ask For Help 💚

There’s been 1 thing that’s been a constant struggle for me within my business

And that’s…Pricing 🫤

I’ve always found it hard to work out what a single product costs when I buy in bulk all the different elements I need to create it 😵‍💫

I mean it doesn’t help I have dyscalculia so numbers aren’t really my friend anyway 🙅🏻‍♀️

But what I didn’t even think about was asking others how do they manage it, is there a system I can use or just simply ask for help

Until I’d simply had enough…⬇️

It took nearly 4 years in business for me to actually create a video asking for help 😮

And what was the result? ⬇️

Instant replies in the comments and private messages of others who knew exactly how to help, offering their support and giving me a system to use 🫶🏻

Honestly I was shocked at how simple that was and how quick people came to offer their help 🥰

So why did I struggle for so long when it really wasn’t needed? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Because I believed running my business alone meant that I have to do everything myself and that I had to struggle alone too 🤦🏻‍♀️

Something that I’ve definitely learnt the hard way…just ask for help 💚

Do any of you struggle to ask for help? Or had similar experience?

New Compliment Cards…Want To See 👀🫶🏻

Now the old batch is completed it was about time I created my own 👩🏻‍🎨

And it was important for me that they aligned with me and my business Holly’s Handmades 22

I mean they just had to be personal, that’s what it’s all about for me 🫶🏻👩🏻‍🎨

You may all be thinking…that’s going to be time consuming creating a different painting for each compliment card ⌛️

But that time is well worth the investment in using my art to help spread joy along with a written compliment 💚

I mean the more time I get to paint, the happier I am so it’s a huge win for me 🫶🏻

I just can’t wait to start handing these new compliment cards out 🥰

Can You Help Me With A Pricing Problem?

Incase I didn’t explain it very clearly…⬇️

Here’s an example…if I’m making a paint your own canvas 👩🏻‍🎨

One would require: 1 canvas, 1 paint brush, 1 set of 6 paint pots and 6 coloured paints to fill them

The problem is all these items come in multiple packs and I need to know how much just 1 of them costs 😵‍💫

It’s a struggle especially with having dyscalculia and believe me calculators ain’t my friend 😵‍💫😂

Now is there an app or system that you could put the price for each pack into and it tells me what 1 would cost? 🤷🏻‍♀️

So if anyone can help me out I would be soooo grateful 💚

Every Month Needs A Job…Here’s My October’s 📝👩🏻‍🎨

I’ve recently done a planning and prep session for October to December 📝

It involved looking at what I want to realistically achieve by the end of the year for these areas…

🟩 Health
🟩 Money
🟩 Work & Career
🟩 My Life Outside of Work
🟩 The Things I’m Done With

And once I got clearer on what I really want from these areas I then looked at giving each month a set job ⬇️

Breaking that down to my main focus and my 3 priorities 💚👩🏻‍🎨

Then looking at how I can get specific by putting things in the calendar 🗓️

And then asking myself…”What can I do in the next 7 days?”

But looking at…

🟩 One thing for my health
🟩 One thing for my money
🟩 One thing for my work
🟩 One thing I’ve been avoiding
🟩 One thing just for me

And honestly, I find this structure of planning and really looking at all aspects of your life so valuable ✨

I love how it combines all of what’s important and it’s all in one plan 🫶🏻

So tell how, how do you do your 3 month planning? And what’s your main focus and 3 priorities for October? ⬇️💚

First Time Drawing On A Baby Grow & What A Success 👩🏻‍🎨…

This was kind of the perfect game for me at my best friends baby shower 🫶🏻

However it was still testing of my skills because I always draw out in pencil first

This task meant I wasn’t able to do this and just had to commit and trust my abilities ✨

And honestly I was so happy and proud of what I created 🫶🏻

I guess it proves just how capable of an artist I actually am 👩🏻‍🎨💚
