Rain … rain … go away …

Actually I don’t mind the rain too much … it’s perfect for staying indoors and painting furniture (yes, I’ll always try and find a positive)!

I’ve got a really busy week ahead … some of the things I’ll be doing:

🌟heading to the post office (when the rain stops) to post some online orders

🌟painting an old pine sideboard for a customer

🌟kick-starting a revamp of my website and online shop … we’re moving to Shopify 🤩

🌟Changing the shop window

🌟workshop on Friday … Learn to Paint your Furniture the Annie Sloan Way … there’s still a couple of places available so shout if you want to join the fun! ☎️01306 888325

🌟Emma’s due back in the shop later in the week after a six week break recovering from donating one of her kidneys to her sister 😍 Can’t wait to see her!

🌟painting a new (very old actually but new to me) cabinet for our bathroom at home 🛀

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and waxes are a brilliant way to upcycle and transform old furniture to suit your home and style!

Our workshops cover:
🌟how to prepare your furniture for painting
🌟different paint techniques including a modern finish, two-colour distressing and a rustic effect
🌟you’ll learn how to use neutrals and colours and also how to mix a new colour
🌟coloured waxes can really help give your furniture a professional finish … so we’ll use them too and you’ll learn which to use and when to create different looks

🌟our workshops are always small fun sessions with a maximum of six people … perfect for asking questions!

Sideboard makeover complete 🍊🫒🤩 swipey swipe ➡️ to see the transformation.

She was a big old beauty … well loved … but in need of a makeover to suit her new home which is a barn conversion.

Barn conversions, especially with the old beams showing are gorgeous and tend to suit quite a rustic style (in my opinion!).

With that in mind and of course conversations with her owner, the colours were chosen and I whipped out my paint brush, cracked open a tin of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Barcelona Orange 🍊… and … frightened the internet 😂 … yep, it seemed a rather controversial start … but … I knew how she was going to look and the process needed to give her a sympathetic makeover that would suit both her history and also her new home.

The fabulous bright orange was more than subdued with a coat of Olive 🫒 Chalk Paint, some distressing and clear and dark wax to protect the finish and bring a warm, aged depth to her.

I hope you like her as much as I do … and more importantly, her happy owner … who said ‘omg she looks absolutely stunning Annie thank you so so much’!

We’re open on Saturday as usual from 10am to 5pm and then I’m having a couple of cheeky days off … back open again at 10am on Tuesday!
