A little Ogham moment

This week I picked Nion, associated with the Ash tree, and settled it into one of my handmade bowls.

The words on this page of my booklet are peace, balance and connection. I’ve been thinking about that lovely combination of strength and flexibility in a tree — being rooted, but still able to bend.

Perhaps there’s something in that for those everyday moments when we’re trying to find our balance, or work out when to pause and when to do something.

These are the questions I’m sitting with this week:

🌿 Where in my life do I call in peace, and where am I called to act?
🌿 How can I hold strength without losing compassion?

I thought I’d share them here with you too. Maybe one will stay with you over a cup of tea. 💚

A little look at what’s taking shape in the studio 🌙

I’ve been working on a couple of new ceramic wall plaques — a hare and a fox beneath the moon. They’re still in raw clay at the moment, before their first firing and all the finishing touches.

I’m really enjoying developing this style, with the animal shapes, moon forms and flowing carved lines. I like them to feel earthy, simple and a little bit magical without becoming too fussy.

I’ll share them again once they’ve been through the kiln 🤎

WOW - what a heart-opening weekend at Freezone festival.
Holding space for the my Dot Mandala workshop was such a powerful reminder of how art can bring us into stillness, presence, and deep connection- with ourselves, with each other, and with the moment.
