Todays Fynbos Feature is the Cluster Star a.k.a the Brunia fragarioides ⭐

This hearty inflorescence is recognised for its distinctive clusters of small, rounded flower heads that create texture and depth within floral design. Native to South Africa's Western and Southwestern Cape, it grows naturally within the fynbos biome, a region celebrated for its extraordinary plant diversity. 💐

Its branching stems and clustered form bring natural movement to arrangements, making it a versatile addition alongside proteas, leucadendrons and other seasonal fynbos. Both delicate and resilient, Cluster Star reflects the unique growing conditions of the Cape Floral Kingdom, where nutrient-poor soils and a Mediterranean climate help shape some of the world's most distinctive floral species. 🌿

A beautiful example of the texture and character that South African fynbos brings to the floristry trade.

Not all flower stems are created equal. 🔗

Within the floristry trade, stems are carefully graded based on factors such as length, strength, maturity and overall consistency. These standards help ensure flowers perform reliably once they reach florists, retailers and event designers.🌷

For South African fynbos and proteas, grading can include stem thickness, bloom development, colour, and the overall condition of the foliage. Consistent grading allows buyers to plan with confidence, knowing they can expect a reliable product across orders.

At Constantia Imports, quality begins at source. By working closely with trusted growers, we focus on supplying stems that meet professional standards and are ready for use throughout the floral industry.🗺

Did you know flowers are graded before they reach the market?

South Africa rises in gold at Chelsea once more!🏅

The “Life After Fire” exhibit has claimed GOLD and the top honour in the Great Pavilion! A tribute to the landscapes that burn, heal, and flourish again. 🌱

This year’s showcase captured hearts for its storytelling, its environmental message, and its breathtaking celebration of Cape flora. A reminder that even after devastation, beauty returns more stronger, wilder, and full of life. ✨

Congratulations to Leon Kluge, Tristan Woudberg, and the phenomenal team behind this achievement. Your work carries the spirit of home across the world.🌎

This weeks Fynbos Feature is the ever glowing Leucospermum ‘High Gold’. 🌾

Recognised for its vibrant golden tones and distinctive radial form, this Leucospermum variety brings both structure and energy to floral design. Each flower head is made up of fine, curved styles that create its signature pincushion shape, giving the stem a strong architectural presence.🔥

Native to South Africa, it is well suited to demanding environments, which contributes to its durability and reliable performance once cut. Its long stems and bold colour make it particularly effective in large-scale arrangements, installations and event work, where both impact and longevity are essential.✴

A incredible striking and dependable expression of South African fynbos within the floristry trade.

From the Cape to the UK. 🌎

South Africa’s Cape Floral Kingdom is one of the most biodiverse floral regions in the world. Many of the stems used within the floristry trade are shaped by this unique landscape, defined by sun, wind and nutrient-poor soils. ☀️

By sourcing directly from trusted growers, we connect this remarkable region with florists across England and Wales. This ensures consistency, quality and a clear sense of origin. 🌷

Strong partnerships with South African growers are at the heart of consistent quality within the floristry trade. ❤️

By working closely with experienced producers across the Cape Floral Kingdom, we ensure reliable grading, careful harvesting and responsible sourcing.

These long-standing relationships allow us to supply fynbos that perform well for florists across events, retail and installations. 🌱

Leon Kluge Reveals SA’s Display for RHS Chelsea Flower Show!

Leon Kluge and his team revealed their design for South Africa’s exhibit at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London.

South Africa is heading into its 50th year of participation in the international flower show, with award-winning Kluge at the helm again this year. Last year, Kluge and his team struck gold for their ocean-inspired masterpiece, which later made its way back to South Africa for display.

This year, the inspiration for the exhibit comes from the wildfires that tore through the Cape over the past season.
