Tamarisk Gallica (Salt Cedar) 🌱
Cuttings after 5 months propagating have rooted and been re-potted!

PROFILE: A large, spreading, deciduous shrub or small tree to around 4m tall with dark purple-brown young shoots clothed with small, scale-like, blue-green leaves.

Star-shaped, whitish-pink flowers are borne in cylindrical clusters on the current season's shoots in spring, summer and early autumn.

Grows well in most soils but dislikes shallow chalky soil. Requires full sun and a well-drained sandy soil in coastal plantings but it requires shelter from cold drying winds when planted inland.

Heuchera 'Mulberry' (Indian Summer Series)

Gorgeous, intense purple foliage is the hallmark of this semi-evergreen to evergreen plant.

Bold and glossy leaves with a scalloped edge, each carrying dark purple veins that accentuate the reddish-purple foliage.

In late spring-mid summer, dark stems rise above the crown of foliage to carry pinky-white bell-shaped flowers.

Great in a container or border planting.

Plant in full sun or partial shade, sheltered.

Aspect; West, East or South.

Hardy in most of UK.

This butterfly is the commonest blue found in the British Isles. While the male has bright blue uppersides, the female is primarily brown, with a highly variable amount of blue. This is the most widespread Lycaenid found in the British Isles and can be found almost anywhere, including Orkney. It is absent, however, from Shetland and the mountainous areas of Wales and Scotland. This butterfly forms reasonably discrete colonies measured in tens or hundreds, with individuals occasionally wandering some distance.

🌶🌶🌶 UPDATE: Chilli seedlings after 15 weeks;
The surviving chillis are strengthening up and putting on growth after a very slow start and battling with annoying fungus gnats, I thought I was going to lose them all. They will be potted up and slowly acclimatised to their permanent home in outdoor containers. 🌞Would love to see your chilli plants in the comments 🙂

Cabbage ‘Tinty’ is a distinctive red cabbage with a striking appearance. The pointed heads are a deep purple-red colour both inside and out. A multipurpose variety with excellent flavour whether steamed, eaten raw in salads or pickled. A spring sowing will produce a colourful crop that can be harvested from mid-summer through to autumn as the heads mature. Height: 30cm x Spread: 45cm.

Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Atropurpureum' / common name Kohuhu

A dark stemmed busy shrub with all year round interest - suitable for hedging and coastal regions.

Thin leathery evergreen leaves that are pale green when young, changing to bronze-purple as they age.

Small clusters of dark purple-black fragant 5-petal flowers with yellow centres from late Spring, followed by spherical woody fruits in Autumn.

Eventual height x spread 3m x 1.5m

Full sun or partial shade in fertile well-draining soil.

Hardy in most of UK with some protection from harsh coastal winds.
