Created for a returning customer, each one holds a story and a connection to loved ones who are deeply missed. This set represents a mum and dad / a nan and grandad, all brought together through carefully chosen fabrics.

Seven pieces of clothing were used across the bears, from a suit jacket and tie to soft wool jumpers and a dress filled with holiday memories. Every stitch carries meaning, turning treasured garments into something to hold onto.

This has truly been a labour of love 🤍

On a very tight budget, my new workshop and summerhouse is finally finished… well, almost. Just waiting on the electrics next month!

During Covid I had to give up my huge workshop and bring everything home. I really struggled without having a space I could shut the door on. At times, especially before market days, my living room looked like a hoarder’s paradise 🙈

But now… I finally have a little space dedicated to Gem’s Boutique & The Vintage Hippy ✨

From dirt to a building, it definitely did not come without its drama. The damp over winter nearly finished me off. I ended up crowbarring the fence off, building a French drain, adding guttering and a water butt, and sealing everything up.

Thank God it worked!

I couldn’t be happier to have my own creative space again 💫

Some presences are felt in the quietest, most meaningful ways 🤍

Though they couldn’t be there in person, they were there in spirit, lovingly remembered through these keepsake bears made from treasured fabrics.

Sitting beside the bouquet at a granddaughter’s wedding, they became part of the day, a gentle reminder that love never really leaves us.

A beautiful way to honour memories, celebrate connection, and keep loved ones close for life’s most important moments ✨

October 2024
I received a message from Greta asking if I could create a memory bear from her late father in law’s clothing. She had such a beautiful vision, including his shirt, jumper, and even a cap made from his tweed hat, with his name stitched on ❤️

Every detail mattered, from the way he wore his shirt to the little personal touches that made him who he was. It was an honour to bring that to life in a bear that could be held close.

May 2025
Greta reached out again to share something incredibly moving. Her mum in law was receiving end of life care, and the bear was right there with her, tucked in bed, offering comfort during those final moments.

Knowing something handmade could bring even a small amount of peace at such a time is something I will never take for granted.

Later that month
Her mum in law passed away 🤍

Recently
I had the honour of creating another bear and a cushion from her mum in law’s clothing. We added a scarf and included their business logo on both her and her husband’s bears, creating something deeply personal and connected for them both.

This is why I do what I do
These bears are not just keepsakes, they are comfort, memory, and a way to hold someone close when you need them most

This year we’re taking an extended break for the holidays.

As many of you know, I’ve been celebrating my 40th — and it’s been full of joy, events, and beautiful moments. With Christmas festivities and New Year still to come, it’s set to be full on!

I also have to be mindful that I am still disabled, and giving my body the rest it needs is essential to avoid a flare-up. So this pause is very much needed.

2026 is already shaping up to be an exciting year, with new projects, fresh directions, and of course getting everyone’s self-assessments in!
