Your wedding flowers should look just as good in real life as they do on a moodboard.

By the time we meet for our venue walk through we’ve usually already got a pretty good idea of what we’re creating together.

But there’s something about standing in the actual space that a floor plan or photograph just can’t replicate. Here we can test our ideas, play with scale, rethink placements and spot opportunities we might never have noticed on paper.

It’s all part of creating something that feels like it truly belongs in your venue, rather than simply being plonked there arbitrarily to tick off a list.

For couples who’d rather host an incredible dinner party than a traditional wedding reception.

For this tablescape, I played with textured linens, varying heights and densities of flowers and candlelight, and unexpected little fruit accents. Nothing too uniform or overly styled — just layers of colour, texture and a little bit of theatre.

Hampton Manor weddings couldn’t be a more perfect setting for this aesthetic. With their incredible focus on the culinary experience, it’s made for weddings that feel more like an impossibly chic dinner party than a traditional reception.

Think beautiful food, interesting flowers, flickering candlelight and a table you want to sit around for hours.

Because who decided wedding tables had to look like wedding tables anyway?

More flowers doesn’t always mean more impact.

Especially when you’re working with a large space.

Take a marquee wedding for 200 guests. You could have over 200ft of tables to dress, and spreading a limited floral budget across every inch might leave you with lots of lovely little arrangements that barely register in the room.

I’d rather look at where we can make a real statement.

Perhaps that’s flowers suspended above your guests, greenery climbing the tent poles or beautiful ceremony arrangements that can be repurposed throughout the day.

And instead of relying on flowers to do all the work? Let’s bring in interesting linens, characterful tableware and plenty of candlelight, maybe even table lamps.

The result isn’t necessarily more expensive, but it is more impactful.

Of course, sometimes an abundant tablescape is exactly the right choice. But the point is knowing what works for the space and scale, rather than simply ticking things off a list.

I don’t want to just fill your venue with flowers. I want to change how it feels.

I have an eye for detail, unfortunately there is a very specific remit…

Colour balance, stem heights, the placement of arrangements? Totally got it.

The scissors I’ve just put down? Anyone’s guess.

But that same eye follows your wedding from the first design ideas to the final tweaks before you and your guests arrive. I’ll be the one stepping back, checking your florals from every conceivable angle and making that last adjustment until everything feels just right.

Your flowers are in safe hands. My phone is probably in a bucket!

You don’t have to narrow everything you love down to two colour swatches.

A palette can start with a painting, a room, a favourite outfit—or simply a collection of colours you’re drawn to. My job is to find the thread that brings them together.

They don’t all have to feature on every piece of stationery, they don’t have to include this years trending colour, the flowers don’t actually have to ‘match’ the bridesmaids dresses or your napkins, it’s often more cohesive when colour is balanced well throughout the day instead of matching, unless of course colour drenching is your aim!

Actually, it’s a studio!

And some pretty big and beautiful things have come out of my messy little ‘shed’ at the bottom of the garden.

It’s where my team and I condition flowers, make arrangements, work through the details and leave ourselves approximately six inches of clear worktop to work from.

For most of our weddings, so much of the making happens on site: building installations, bringing all the elements together and making those final adjustments once we can see everything in the space.

A few snippets from this season, bringing my couples’ ideas to life. Quite proud of what we’ve managed from the bottom of the garden 🤍
