We loved the idea of a lampshade you could play with...mixing and matching for different occasions, without the throwaway culture that often comes with switching up your interiors. So we designed a lampshade collection to do just that.

Here are Nancy Petal and Naomi Petal...same location, same lamp base, same lamp frame, different petals!

This late Victorian larder cupboard is one of my absolute favourite antique finds for my home.

I love kitchens that feel comfortable and lived-in, so including antique or vintage unfitted pieces adds character, while also being super useful. I love that I can display the things I want to see and hide all the things I don't... though I'm still thinking of replacing the bottom panels with glass and a ruched curtain at some point, to soften it a little more.

This piece had a beautiful separate cornice (see the original listing photo), but I removed it and stored it safely elsewhere for now. It makes it feel a bit less formal and lets me keep some of my favourite houseplants together for easy watering!

This is my annual ode to Second Hand September! ☺️♻️💚 A little reminder to consider buying second-hand and not to be afraid of tweaking something to make it work in your own home.

The countdown is on to our October workshops...

We are back with our Hand-Painted Lampshade workshops, celebrating the 10th session we've held at the brilliant Dukes of West Barns 🎉

The full-day workshops will be held on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th October, and after a relaxing day of creativity, our workshop attendees will leave with their very own hand-painted lampshade.

No experience is needed; we will guide you through the whole process, from choosing a colour palette and developing a surface pattern to constructing and finishing your lampshade. A delicious lunch from the Dukes bistro is also included 😋

It is definitely about time that I dedicated a post to my office on the grid. This space was previously a little detached garage in our garden, home to half-finished DIY projects and a whole lot of creepy crawlies!

Converting it into an office has made such a huge difference to how I work... I love "leaving the house", even if it is just to travel a few metres, and having lots of storage for samples, which had started to take over my home!

In this 2.5 x 5 metre space, we've managed to squeeze in a teeny tiny kitchenette, a double desk, and a little comfy nook for a desk break.

My favourites are the beautiful waney-edge ash desk made by Fin Loening Joinery, who kindly let me choose my own slab from a stash in his workshop... and the little rattan chairs, which previously sat in my grandparents' bedroom overlooking the sea. I think of them every time I sit there now.

I'm looking forward to adding more artwork and other finds to this space over time.

I've neglected my socials for a while so today I'm easing myself back with a few phone snaps of what I've been up to.

Finally getting around to sharing some pictures of my attic bedroom, captured at the end of our Petal lampshade shoot by .

It’s a squeeze under the eaves, but we split the room to turn the most awkward area into a mini walk-in wardrobe (tucked behind the bed wall), which actually makes the rest of the space feel much calmer. And there was still space left for a tiny dressing table and a little ensuite. Vintage bedside tables were finished with worktop offcuts, and I love the deep red vein of these with the linen headboard made by .co.uk.

I still need to add more artwork, but I'm already loving the gorgeous Still Life no. 4 (found on ' brilliantly curated page) that is sitting very pretty on the Beauvais Lilac walls.

So... still general faffing to do, until I declare this room finished...including finding the perfect lamp bases for these lush pleated lampshades from (I'm wondering about a little blue!?). Once I'm done, I'll share some before-and-afters with more details.
