Have you noticed your composite door feeling a little stiffer to open or close on this summer? That's thermal expansion at work!

Composite doors are built from several materials layered together — usually a timber core, GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) skin, and insulating foam. Each of these materials expands and contracts at a slightly different rate as temperatures rise and fall throughout the year.

If a door is sticking badly or won't close properly regardless of the weather, it's worth getting the hinges and frame checked!
