It’s National save the bee 🐝 day. I’ve only just realised this so had to do a quick post. I teach my infant school children these facts every year and I thought them worth a share.

Why save bees?

🐝 Bees help pollinate many of the fruits, vegetables, and flowers we enjoy every day. Without bees, many plants would struggle to grow and produce food.

How to save bees

🐝 Plant flowers that bees love, such as lavender, sunflowers, and wildflowers.

🐝 Leave some wild areas in your garden where flowers can grow naturally.

🐝 Put out a shallow dish of water with pebbles for bees to drink from safely.

🐝 Avoid using pesticides and chemicals that can harm bees.

🐝 Buy honey from local beekeepers to support bee conservation.

🐝 Leave dandelions and clover growing, as they provide important food for bees.

🐝 Make a bee hotel from bamboo canes or hollow stems to give solitary bees a place to live.

🐝 Tell your friends and family why bees are important and how they can help.

🐰 Peter Rabbit art trail coming to the coast 👀

A Peter Rabbit™ themed art trail is on the way — and it’s shaping up to be a big one for families this summer 👇

🎨 Expect large Peter Rabbit character sculptures popping up across different locations
📸 Perfect for little ones (and grown-ups) to spot, explore and snap photos with

💡 The trail is also helping to raise money for charity while celebrating the 40th anniversary of St Oswald’s Hospice — so there’s a really nice cause behind it too 👍

👉 Locations haven’t been fully confirmed yet… but it’s expected to include Tynemouth & North Shields 👀

Event will run from 15th July until early September.

Hoppy Days. Just doodling in the summer house. Playing around with ideas for a 2027 calendar after a couple of years not having done one. Might it be something you’d like to see?
