AN OPEN LETTER TO META - Please share 😢 Has this happened to anyone else? 😢

Dear Meta,

You closed my small business page.

To you, it’s an account.

To me, it’s over 24,000 people and years of my life.

Years of showing up. Building a business. Building a community. Paying wages. Supporting my family.

And overnight, it was just… gone.

What has affected me most is how powerless I feel.

I’ve cried. I’ve panicked. I’ve lost sleep. I’ve worried about what this means for everything I’ve worked so hard to build.

And there is nobody to talk to.

Just automated decisions, automated appeals and help pages that lead nowhere.

Even Meta’s own Oversight Board has raised concerns about inaccessible appeals.

This isn’t just about losing a page.

There is a real human being on the other side of that screen, watching years of their life disappear.

If an algorithm has the power to damage someone’s livelihood, a human should have the power to put it right.

Please, Meta.

Start treating small businesses like there are real people behind them. Because there are.

💔 I’m absolutely devastated.

The Meta bots (or someone reporting us) have shut down our Durham Vintage page.

24,000 followers. Years and years of hard work. Gone in a second.

It might just be a page to some, but to a small business like ours, it was everything we’d built. 😢
