We live in a world where we believe everything we see on social media and are lead to believe that people live perfect lives, but thats really not the case.
As business owners, me and lee have always vowed to keep it very real, sharing not only the wins but also the fails and the reality of what goes on behind the scenes. ALOT of tears and tantrums goes on behind the scenes to create what looks seamless to the customers.
Here's Just some things that no one ever tells you when starting a business especially form our point of view. Its not as easy as it seems!
I myself never switch off, even whilst sitting on a sun lounger in Portugal writing this, im sitting thinking, I need to post today to keep the algorithm going, im thinking about events next weekend, im thinking of my schedule when I get back already writing down an action plan.
Pack orders, ship them out, lees on wax melt making duty, im on perfume making duty...need get the kids uniform ready for Wednesday, need do all the washing from holiday...the list goes on...
But there's also the little things you dont realise....like the fast food one 🤢 with all the will in the world, meal prepping etc goes out the window and quickly you realise your surviving on macdonals, KFC and all the other s**t thats quick and convenient.
We managed to offend someone because we sold dead sea salts....because we couldn't tell them what side of the dead sea they were from and he didn't want to support us for "potentially" supporting a side! We offended someone for doing absolutely nothing!
The Bitching and politics of event's sometimes is ridiculous too, we just want to trade, sell our products go home and enjoy our life, we don't care who said what and why, its not our place and we don't wish to get involved either.
so yeah, a little pry into sometimes an absolute s**t show behind the scenes, but its also what makes us, us!
I know a lot of businesses will relate to these too so feel free to share away. Business ain't for the faint hearted 🖤
