Cast Off Crafts Cast Off Crafts is based in the far northwest corner of Scotland, close to Durness.

CastOff Crafts is a small business situated on Balnakeil Craft Village, Durness, selling a wide variety of original items, many of which use recycled or upcycled materials You can find us on the back row of Balnakeil Craft Village close to Ishbel Macdonald's gallery and Meet and Eat restaurant. We offer visitors a wide variety of arts and crafts created by the owner, her friends, and family. Items

range from silver jewellery to origami mobiles, textiles, seaglass, embroidery and hand-made soaps. The shop is open most days during the summer with some opening times through the winter months. You will always receive a warm welcome from Shuggie the springer spaniel (especially if you are carrying dog treats!)

Puffins are still here - and so are we (sorry for the lack of posts this season!)
We're already seeing lots of lovely people - new faces and returning visitors
So far our favourites have been a dog named Fred, a young person who made a volcano and a real mermaid (yes, really !!!)
We're looking forward to the rest of the season and maybe some sunshine!

Sending seasonal and solstice greetings to everyone who has crossed our threshold this year. We've loved meeting new and returning visitors (especially the sardine collectors and the bearers of various surprise gifts and guidance!) We look forward to repeating the experience in 2026. Thank you to everyone who helped to make the weekend so special - we had a lovely time at Durness Christmas Fayre and delighted that so many people made it down to Balnakeil Christmas Fayre the following day.
For last minute gifts and last minute shoppers CastOff Crafts will be open one last time on Saturday 6th December (or by arrangement for other times this week)

This year we will be joined for the first time by Doocot Studio (next to CastOff Crafts)
