This amazing (and colossal!) quilt is the latest finished make of one of our lovely customers, Anna. Foundation paper pieced, then using the quilt as you go method, it measures a massive 94” square and really packs a punch! Make this super easy pixelated picture using 1” squares without the faff of individually sewing together all those tiny pieces by using a squared interfacing and sewing complete rows in one go. This picture is from a free pattern by Tilda which requires 566 squares – using Emma’s method means you can finish the picture (24” square) in a day! Book onto our workshop on 227th October or 28th November to have a go! 🪡

Nordic Summer by Gudrun Erla for Andover fabrics is one of our recent arrivals. As the name suggests, the designer was inspired by the magical Scandinavian summer days. She used gorgeous rich tones of berrys, teals and buttermilk in the fabrics and we especially love the geometric patterns of Nordica and Glacial Run.

This fantastic colourful quilted, lined and zipped tote bag can be made using scraps. With a variety of techniques, crumb netted, scrap pieced, or even using left over charm squares or jelly roll strips. At our workshop on 6th November, you will learn how to make and quilt your outer fabric. Adding webbing handles, zipped and a loose lining. This boxed bottom tote is an ideal shopper. Or bring along your fabrics and pattern for the Center Street Fleetwood Tote bag and Anita will get you started on that instead. 🛍️👜

Do you always use the same few stitches on your machine? Do you want to explore what you can do with some of the unused stitch options and some of those threads you have lurking in the cupboard that you bought at a show thinking you would use them? Come along to this workshop with Lizzy on Saturday 3rd October and learn how to make a beautiful appliqué quilt or fun play mat. Lizzy will cover the basic principles of raw edge machine appliqué, including her top tips. She can also guide you how to adapt patterns to add fun tactile elements. You can either bring your own pattern or Lizzy recommends Kjersti Smith’s patterns which are available to buy in the shop.

Sorry, no newsletter this week as Becky is on a well deserved holiday and I've been dealing with BT trying to get our phones sorted all day! Although calls are on divert, if you are struggling to contact us by phone please email us instead until the problem is resolved.
