Eastbourne Scrap Store Eastbourne Scrap store is a place where you can donate & buy cheap recycled arts and crafts materials & do your bit to recycle.

Our volunteers sort the scrap & we also offer free and low cost workshops where you can learn new skills and meet new friends. Welcome to the Eastbourne Scrap Store! The Eastbourne Scrap Store is based on the principle of reduce, reuse and recycle. It works by taking re-usable, safe, clean waste products (‘scrap’) donated by individuals and local businesses that can be repurposed by its members in

to pieces of art, crafts and gifts. Members pay a small fee to collect scrap from the store for personal and group use within the community. The Scrap Store stores also provide an outreach provision in the form of workshops where participants can demonstrate examples of ways in which they can put ‘reducing, reusing and recycling’ into practice in a shared environment and have a better understanding of their commitment to improving the environment; the local economy; and society by reducing waste in landfill.

Yesterday we spent a lovely morning making autumn scenes on slices of wood; toadstools made from acorn hats 🍄, fairy houses made from sticks 🍂, glass butterflies 🦋 and artificial flowers 💐. As always, they were all so different, even though we started with the same materials 😊

PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT WE'RE CLOSED NEXT WEEK; TUESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER TO SATURDAY 12 SEPTEMBER INCLUSIVE.

We have taken the unusual step to close for a week from Tuesday 8 September to allow our lovely volunteers to do some training to make your experience when visiting the Eastbourne Scrap Store even better!

We'll also be having a bit if a shuffle around to allow us to display more fresh stock, and make everything as easy to find as possible.

Please bear with us - we know you'll miss it while we undertake our improvements, but we'll be back OPEN AGAIN ON TUESDAY 15 SEPTEMBER at 10AM. Come and see what's changed...

What a way to finish off the week with one of my all time favourite workshops; Leaded Glass Pictures
This time, our crafters chose from the Seven Sisters, Hastings Fisherman's huts, a lighthouse, beach huts, a sun burst, a fox, a butterfly and rolling Tuscan Hills.
I also managed to finish Simon the Seagull - watch out for him at the next workshop!

This morning was our last 'kids for a quid' summer workshop, and what a great one to finish on.
Our mini crafters made sheep or Peso from the Octonauts with buttons, and they are so creative.
We had a visit from Chester, our emotional support dachshund and even some yummy biscuits!
After the main event, Alice our art student ran a free workshop where the kids got to work together making shapes from cardboard and collaborated on a big rubbing.
What a fun day 😁
