Lovely review from Bryan Christie on Warriston Crescent, where we’ve done 7 sets of railings (and counting!):

Our 200-year-old railings were in a poor state with flaking paint and signs of rust but, after Chris’s hard work, they look brand new. He advised it would be best to strip everything down to the bare metal which took several days. It was a messy process but you would never know it at the end of the working day when everything was tidied up. Such a thorough job is not cheap but it was worth every penny. A neighbour who saw Chris’s work admitted he had made a mistake in hiring a cheap painter to do his railings which quickly showed signs of flaking. Chris’s work is of the highest quality and will keep our railings in great condition for many years to come. A highly professional job from a highly professional tradesman.

Stripped, primed & painted. Three coats of primer, 2 topcoats (with a third topcoat on the handrail, as per). If you’re gonna do it - do it properly! Nov 2024
