❤️🌟 CHAIN STORES BUILD PROFITS… INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES BUILD RELATIONSHIPS & COMMUNITIES! 🌟❤️
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a wee wander around a supermarket as much as the next person… usually going in for a pint of milk and coming out £87 poorer, with three things I didn’t need and absolutely NO MILK! 🤣🤣
But here’s the difference between a big chain and your wee local independent business…
🌸 In a supermarket, you’re a transaction. In our shop, you’re practically part of the furniture! 😂
🌸 In a supermarket, you get a self-service checkout. In our shop, you get a full conversation, a wee bit of gossip and possibly some relationship advice you never even asked for! 🤣
🌸 In a supermarket, nobody knows your name. In our shop, we probably know your name, your dog’s name, your husband’s name and what he did wrong last Tuesday! 😂
🌸 In a supermarket, they ask if you need a receipt. In our shop, we’re asking how your mum is, how the kids are and whether you’ve finally got that holiday booked! ❤️
And if you’re really lucky, you’ll pop in for a bunch of flowers and leave knowing more about what’s happening in Meadowbank than you would watching the six o’clock news! 🤣🤣

Independent businesses are the heartbeat of our communities. ❤️
We’re the businesses sponsoring local teams, donating raffle prizes, supporting charities, helping our neighbours and trying our very best to keep our high streets alive.
We don’t have millions to spend on advertising. We don’t have enormous marketing departments or fancy television adverts.
Most of the time, our marketing department is ME, sitting on my phone at 10 o’clock at night, wondering why Facebook has decided to show my post to approximately seven people… and I’m related to four of them! 🤣🤣
