Friday favourites this week are all about spaces that feel warm, inviting and beautifully balanced.

We’re drawn to interiors that manage to feel soft and lived in, whilst still holding a strong sense of structure through clean lines, thoughtful layouts and intentional detailing. It’s that balance between comfort and clarity that makes a space feel timeless.

Layered textures, warm tones and natural materials soften the overall look, whilst the architectural lines and simplicity keep everything feeling calm, refined and grounded.

Spaces that welcome you in, but still feel effortlessly composed.

The heart of Pilgrim’s Rest 🤍

An open plan space designed for slow mornings, long evenings and everything in between. From the layered textures and natural materials to the quieter detail moments, every part of this project was considered to feel warm, timeless and deeply connected to the way our clients live.

We’re still pinching ourselves that this project has been shortlisted for the Scotland & Northern Ireland Residential category at the British Institute of Interior Design Interior Design Awards 2026. It has been such a special one for us from the very beginning, and we’re so proud to see it recognised alongside so many incredible projects.

Last week we shared the pieces selected for this snug, and now we’re bringing everything together through the design board.

This is the stage where the vision really starts to take shape. Seeing the colours, textures, materials and furniture sit together in the space helps create a clearer feeling for how the room will look and, more importantly, how it will feel.

Every element has been chosen to support that dark, cocooning atmosphere we wanted to achieve. Rich earthy tones, layered textures and soft shapes all working together to create a snug that feels grounding, inviting and deeply comfortable.

And next week, we’ll be sharing the renders that bring the whole design to life in 3D.

A little cosy corner in this master bedroom. A space to slow down, unwind, and infuse personality in a calm and intentional way.

We always say that bedrooms are one of the most personal spaces in a home. They should feel comforting, reflective of you, and designed around the way you want to feel at the start and end of each day.

Creating a bedroom that feels truly yours is never just about aesthetics. It’s an investment in comfort, routine, and wellbeing.

Happy Bank Holiday Monday.

As the long weekend comes to an end, it is often when we start noticing the spaces around us a little more. The corners that are working well, and the ones that no longer quite fit how we want to live.

Summer is slowly approaching, and with it comes a natural shift in how we use our homes. Lighter evenings, open windows, slower mornings, more time spent gathering with family and friends.

It can be the perfect moment to start thinking about how you want your home to feel for the season ahead.

If your space no longer feels quite right, we would love to help shape it into something more considered, functional and personal to you.

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that have shortlisted Studio Heim in the Scotland & Northern Ireland Residential category for our Pilgrim’s Rest project in Fife ✨

This project was such a rewarding one to work on from start to finish. A home full of warmth, character, thoughtful details, and beautifully considered spaces that truly reflected our clients and the way they wanted to live. Seeing it recognised in the BIID Interior Design Awards is an incredibly proud moment for our small studio.

We’re also so grateful to have collaborated with some truly incredible suppliers and makers throughout the project. It takes a huge team effort behind the scenes to bring a home like this together, and we’re so thankful to everyone who played a part in helping us create such a special property for our clients.

We now can’t wait for the site visit this Summer and are feeling very excited for what’s to come 🤍

A huge thank you to our wonderful clients for trusting us with your home, and to everyone who continues to support Studio Heim. It means more than you know.

Friday favourites.

This week, we were drawn to rooms that feel quiet, but still full of personality.

Spaces that do not rely on bold statements to leave an impression. Instead, they build character through texture, shape, contrast and thoughtful details.

There is something comforting about interiors that feel calm on first glance, yet reveal more the longer you sit with them.

A softened palette, layered materials, collected pieces that feel personal rather than perfect.

Proof that personality does not always need to be loud to be felt.

Z is for Zara Home.

And just like that, we have reached the end of our A–Z in our designs series.

Zara Home is often one of our go-to places for those finishing layers that help a space feel more complete. Cushions, tableware, lighting, textiles, small details that can quietly shift the atmosphere of a room.

One of the reasons we return to it so often is how accessible it feels. Design does not always need a full renovation or large investment to make an impact. Sometimes, introducing a few updated pieces is enough to refresh a space and help it evolve naturally over time.

While trends move quickly, small interchangeable elements can actually help interiors last longer. Rather than changing everything, you can simply update the lighter layers around the room as your style shifts.

A gentle reminder that thoughtful design is often built through small changes over time, not always the big ones.
