There are so many more styles of blinds than straight old Romans, that make much more of the fabric design. Who doesn’t love a Chinese dragon though!!! This fabulous now presides over my dining/craft/kitchen extension room at the cottage. As recently pointed out, it’s all in the proportion, getting the balance right between scoop and tail!

They might be mini choux to you, but they are HUGE for some people! ☺️

Having a bit of a pax meltdown due to champagne taste and buckfast budget. Have decided to bite the bullet and get some custom doors 😬 so, obviously, having been round the houses trying to decide on a fabric for the doors,,, squiggle, stripe, vine, floral, sheer, plain aaaaaarrrrrgggg. I have plumped for a full on glittery Indian embroidery, which is currently shedding golden spawn all over the place 😂 I am rather excited though, a little bit of sparkle in the bedroom will be just the thing. Got to wait another month for the doors, so plenty time to hang it on the line and give it a good spanking first 😂😂

Another pic from London. This time the prettiest of canopies for a perfect little girl. Patterned sheer on the outside and a plain shell pink linen within. Trimmed with veranda trimming, a few berries having made their way to the ruched heading. We were also really pleased with the finials on the curtain pole , and extra beautiful little garland of flowers. 🌺 we are going to swap the blackout roller for a Roman in the same candy stripe as the valance, which will look so gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️

More of that stupendous low spring light, this time through some soft wool sheers, all hand sewn edges to honour the quality of the weave. We honestly used cotton gloves to handle this it was so soft. ( I think?) french poles again, this time in a super smart dull brass finish. The wool curtains are just the softest peach, colour and texture 🍑 all with reverse pleats for a clean and tailored look with enough fullness to behave well.

So lovely to spend a few days in London, visiting a couple of finished projects and getting started on some new ones. The sun pure bustin’ through these ruffles on Thursday. Cafe curtains have really taken off in the last couple of years, such a joy to make ❤️❤️ especially in this lovely Colefax linen , on our favourite handsome as hell piles in antique nickel finish.
