I haven’t posted for a while, but I was drawn to today.
It’s spring equinox - a natural point of balance, and one of those moments in the year that subtly shifts how things feel.
In our homes, balance isn’t about simplicity.
It’s about how everything works together.
Colour, pattern, texture, light.
Each element plays its part, without competing for attention.
When a space is truly balanced, it doesn’t feel flat. It feels considered, layered… alive.
This is where design goes beyond aesthetics.

Good morning lovely followers. 😊 Apologies for the somewhat sporadic posts. Got a few distractions going on in life at the moment.

For those who have followed me for a while, you may have noticed my growing interest in the energy and frequency behind my designs. For a long time now, I have approached my design work with the ‘feeling’ that is to be created in mind, more-so perhaps than the ‘look’. How does my client want to FEEL in a space and how do we create that feeling? This is where design comes alive for me. This is what excites me. Creating a space that my clients can walk into and experience that feeling of joy, calm, peace, whatever.

This study in my client’s Edinburgh apartment was to be a room where she could quietly focus on work whilst also being able to feel comfortable, uplifted and inspired.

So we opted for a deep, calming colour on the walls and brought in pops of colour and vibrancy in the fabrics and other items in the room. She loves this room and the design mission was a success 😊👍🏻
