A little behind‑the‑scenes moment from the studio …

I’ve been making a fresh batch of Seaweed print napkins, and as I was cutting and sewing, I found myself thinking about how these small, simple pieces end up becoming part of someone’s home.

Cutting, sewing, pressing, then rolling each napkin and tying it with natural cord, knowing it’ll be unwrapped again around a table somewhere.

This Seaweed design always takes me back to the Norfolk coastline to the little details you only notice when you slow down.

I love that something inspired by those quiet coastal moments can end up being part of someone’s everyday ritual.

All made here in my Norfolk studio, in small batches, with a lot of care.

The second I stepped inside… suddenly I’m back at the moment this design began.

I popped into the fish shop to pick up some prawns, and it instantly brought these coastal prints to mind.

It’s funny how a place can do that — a glimpse, a colour, and that moment you’re right back where the idea first sparked.

The Fishes lino print design is inspired by the small local fish shop, with its striking blue awning, brightly coloured signs and a delicious selection of neatly displayed fresh fish inside.

So when I got home, I pulled the fabrics out and started turning them over again. It felt like reconnecting with the beginning — and I wanted to share that moment with you.

If you know North Norfolk, you’ll understand the feeling. If you don’t, these prints are my way of bringing a little of that coastal character into your home.

Refurbishing this lampshade for a cosy Norfolk cottage felt like the perfect reminder of why I love working this way. Instead of replacing the whole piece, I stripped it back to the frame and rebuilt it using my Seagrass fabric — giving it a fresh life without adding anything unnecessary to waste.

The original was a bit dented but we could reuse the frame, some new fabric and finishing the edges meant it because something beautiful again.

Our Seagrass print in natural tones, hangs perfectly in this cosy cottage with vaulted ceiling and traditional beams.

There’s something really satisfying about seeing a piece transformed and being ready for its next chapter in a very cosy home.

A step‑by‑step look at how I turn my Marina fabric into a finished lampshade — starting with lining up the panel so the pattern flows smoothly around the curve.

I love this calm and quiet, work. Pressing then smoothing the fabric and easing the panel into place.

Then comes the tucking in the fabric and any stray ends and finishing. I always take a moment at the end for a little twirl to check its all ready for its new home.

All crafted here in my Norfolk studio, one thoughtful step at a time.

So much of my inspiration comes from the Norfolk coastline — the colours, the shapes, the small details you only notice when you slow down.

It’s such a lovely place to sit and sketch, even on those warm, breezy days when I use a pebble to keep the seaweed in place.

This seaweed sketch is one of those moments. It’s the starting point for the Seaweed print, and I wanted to share a little of that with you.

Thank you for following along with my work and being part of this journey.

Want to add pattern to your home in a way that feels calm and balanced.

The Bella print lampshade introduces a soft geometric design that’s easy to style and works well in modern, minimal or neutral interiors. Handmade in Norfolk using cotton‑linen fabric, it adds subtle structure without dominating the room.

A simple way to bring pattern into your space with confidence.

Wondering what people think of their ZIA LIVING pieces ?

I’m always so grateful when a review comes in and love hearing how your lampshades and textiles settle into their new homes - Its one of the best parts of what I do.

Your words help others feel confident choosing handmade pieces for their own spaces — and they genuinely shape how the collection grows and evolves.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It means more than you know.

I love finding ways to use every last piece of fabric. Today’s small project is made entirely from offcuts — simple, useful, and satisfying

I’ve been wanting to make a little banner for my craft fair stand, and I finally stitched one together using leftover fabric. Each letter is stitched by hand, and it now hangs above my display as a bright, cheerful welcome.

A brilliant way to use up those fabric scraps pieces.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by at Burnham Market on Saturday.

It was such a warm, friendly day — and it means a lot to meet people in person, talk about colours, fabrics, and see which pieces you’re drawn to.

I brought a mix of lampshades, fresh colourways, and a few one‑off pieces, and I loved hearing your reactions.

If you saw something you liked but didn’t take home, feel free to message me — most pieces can be made to order.

Thank you again for supporting small makers.
