Alison and I are all set for , just a few finishing touches to add in the morning and then we will be ready to welcome you all from 10am! 🤩 Here’s a few photos from the stall and also a picture Winn kindly took of sweaty me with my yarn hoard, and called it ā€œThe Yarn Goblinā€ šŸ˜‚
I also didn’t get a chance to show you a few other new things I brought to Tangled, like these epic 3-skein shawl sets that were inspired by Bernard Klein’s Tulips and some sets I put together with the Show Special colourway ā€œAuroraā€ specifically for this year’s epic Tangled shawl designed by Samira . There’s another brand new colourway: The Fair Maiden of Perth, joining The Lady of the Lake in my Scottish literary heroines inspired series: pretty pinks and purples mixed with white make it a perfect choice for the warmer months.
I also wanted to show you two new bases: the Superchunky Chain Yarn which is the softest cloud you’ve ever touched, and the new Merino Cotton 4ply, another lovely summer base I added to join my linen and silk blends! It has a gorgeous stone washed effect as the cotton resists the dye and only the extra fine merino takes it up. Come by the stall and squish them all! 🄰

Brand new luxurious summer base making its debut this weekend at ! I absolutely adore how my colours look on this Baby Alpaca / Linen / Tussah Silk blend, fingerig weight base. They run together creating a watercolour effect thanks to the wild silk taking the dyes up very slowly, and the dark biscuit shade of the undyed skeins lends an extra moody depth to all colours. The linen resists e dye and adds a stone washed, muting effect. It’s rustic, it’s cool on the skin, it’s full of character and it’s an absolute DREAM to work with: it practically melts between your fingers and softens with the every stitch! 🄹 I’m currently working on a summer top on my brand new Two For Joy colourway (second and last two photos) and hope to finish it for the show so you can see it and feel it for yourself! I dyed this new base in a few different shades for you to choose from if you fancy trying something new this summer!

Find these skeins among hundreds of others on my and Alison’s shared stall in the Volunteer Hall of Galashiels, this coming Friday and Saturday 29th & 30th of May 2026, 10am till 5pm both days! See you there!

SHOW SPECIAL REVEAL for 2026! Inspired by the genius of Bernat Klein, to be precise: by the incredible colour and texture combinations in his ā€œAuroraā€ tweed fabric (see last photo). This was the most exciting show special creation! Anything I’ve ever seen from Bernat Klein was awe inspiring and his colour play is so close to my own personal taste and style. It was a true joy and a labour of love to attempt to interpret the vibe of this beautiful tweed fabric onto my chosen medium: yarn!

As I mentioned in my story yesterday, where I revealed the inspiration behind this year’s colourway: this is an assigned pooling shade, perfect for those fun patterns where the yarn tells you when to knit or crochet what! Every time you reach the same area in the yarn (in this case: the blue/green end), you can create a special stitch, such as a flower, bobble, popcorn, dropped stitches etc, depending on your pattern’s instructions or the design you plan, then carry on knitting or crocheting with the pink/orange/red part until the next special element! I created swatches to show you this fun effect, and I also pulled out my blacklight torch to show you how bright the UV reactive dyes are when they come out to play! 🤩 I hope you like this exciting shade as much as I liked creating it!

ā€œAurora by Bernal Kleinā€ will be available on my incredibly soft 100% Merino, Deluxe Sock and Sparkle Sock 4ply bases and I’ll have some gorgeous bright semisolids to pair it with for this years gorgeous Tangled shawl, designed by Samira for a truly eye catching accessory! Find me on Friday and Saturday 29th and 30th of June, 10am to 5pm, in the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels where I’ll be sharing a stall with my dearest Alison . We can’t wait to see you!

With just a day left to preorder the 5th month of my mystery skein yarn club, it’s time to reveal the 4th colourway from April. Following creatures of water such as the Kelpie, the Selkie and the Each-Uisge, we entered the mysterious and treacherous woodlands and in the fourth month, the mystery shade was inspired by the Baobhan Sith, this beautiful vampiric fae who preys upon lonely travellers desiring company and comfort.
I have attempted to create a colourway that resembles a deep green velvet gown and deep red hair peeking through moss covered branches and thorny bushes, and graceful steps sweeping over rich, damp undergrowth. The contrast colourway ā€œAuburn Tressesā€ echoes exactly those deepest of red locks, the last thing the victim of the Baobhan Sith would have seen before their spirit left this world. This contrast colour will emphasise the same red shades that hide among the deep black, warm brown and moss green hues of the main skein.

If you are intrigued by what the next shade will look like, you can sign up to receive the next parcel until tomorrow, Friday the 15th of May. It will be inspired by the myth of The Redcap, a ruthless and ravenous goblin haunting those abandoned castle ruins and ancient battlefields where blood was once shed.

Proof of life, some recent pics of finding the beauty in the mundane, and a wee ā€œback to workā€ update!
Hello my dear Tribe!
As some of you might know (I mentioned it in my group & the Bingo Event), I had to undergo a small surgery last week, which I am happy to report went well and best of all: I woke up from it! Recovery is a bit slower than I’d hoped but steady, by today I’m almost comfortable.
I’m easing back to work without any heavy lifting or straining, so I’d say I’m at about 50% capacity. I made sure I worked like a mule leading up to my procedure not only to take my mind off what’s coming, but also so that I can take this time off for my recovery, and still have enough yarn for both my stockists and my next show, in just over 2 weeks’ time, where I’ll be sharing a stall with my dearest Alison !

The lead up to this operation (my first under general anaesthesia) was probably the hardest part, as someone with not only a compromised immune system and thicker than normal blood thanks to CLL, but also severe health anxiety, the fear of the unknown was way worse than the actual event and the recovery from it.
I am so grateful for my family and friends for holding me gently through it all, your caring words, your constant check ins, your encouragement meant a lot and you all helped me keep my head straight. I’m overwhelmed by the support, I even had customers and fellow dyers messaging me just to ask how I feel, letting me know they are wishing me well, oh and reminding me to REST and not overdo it! šŸ˜… Guess they’ve met me before… šŸ™„

So in lieu of new yarn photos, for now please enjoy some recent moments, from sexy hospital gown selfie & gorgeous waiting room wallpaper, to pre op breakfast, my happy face and feet after pressure washing our driveway the day before hospital, my sister’s beautiful knitting using my WoollyGood show special, my little boy among gorgeous blooms, random colours in nature and my recovery project: this epic knitted pleated skirt designed by my friend , the pattern of which will be translated to English and available through me soon! I’ll be back with some new yarn pics soon! 🄰

From mysterious woodlands, we venture to old battlefields and castle ruins, places that tell ancient stories of bloodshed and violence. Bound to these places is a dangerous and cruel creature who needs to kill to remain strong.
The listing for the fifth month of the Mythical Creatures of Caledonia Yarn Club will be inspired by the legend of the Redcap, a small and wiry goblin tied to places where blood was shed in battle, like the abandoned keeps and crumbling towers of the borderlands. This colourway will speak of cold, calculated cruelty, no trickery like with most fae.

Orders are open on Etsy, if you’d like to get on board you have a week left to do so, either via the listing or by messaging me directly before the 15th of May.

The Baobhan Sith parcels have all reached their destinations, and I’ll reveal the fourth colourway this week.

Same as in previous months, I’ll be using the shades found on the second slide to create the new mystery colourway for the Redcap. If you’d like to be surprised by a lovely skein (or several!) every month, with a little practical gift and a bit of information on the legend that inspired the yarn, have a look at the listing for detailed information! The link to my Etsy is in my bio and the link to the listing is in my stories / story highlights.

ā€œRose Chaferā€ - brand new shade, shade of the month for May 2026, born from a fun new collab! Read the story below 🄰

My friendships play a very significant role in my life. They say the people you spend most of your time with shape you, so I’ve become increasingly conscious to pick good ones to surround myself with. People who lift me up, drive me to become the best version of myself, don’t kick me when I’m down but always call me out when I’m wrong. People I look up to and feel inspired by. That I can trust with my character flaws and my vulnerabilities, and we can call on each other and count on each other through the good times and the hard times.
Two such cherished friends are of course my sister , and my very talented Hungarian yarn dyer friend Eszti who has been a constant source of support and inspiration ever since I started my dyer journey. We have a fun and busy group chat where we share our daily struggles and ā€œsh*ts and gigglesā€ around perimenopause, raising pre teen / teen girls, putting up with female entrepreneur life, diet and exercise, favourite new books and recipes, and of course our projects with yarn - there is always yarn surrounding us!

While brainstorming the other day, a brand new creative collaboration/game was born and we decided that each month starting now, Nóri will give us an inspirational word, and both of us will free associate and dye a new colourway of the month based on that word. For May, the inspiration was the ā€œRose Chaferā€, this beautiful green bug, and we both came up with a gorgeous tonal, iridescent shade, yet they are totally different too. Here is my version, and I will post a side by side photo in my stories or you can also visit to see her reveal post!

I’ll be dyeing more of this shade on all my bases for , I hope you guys like it! And watch out for our next word and next colour reveal for June!
