Folkerdashery .Folkerdashery -Hand Painted Folk Art with just a Dash of Something Else! So, I left home and followed a career working at home and abroad.

I was born in Warwickshire and grew up around the Canal system of that area, becoming fascinated at an early age with the beautiful artwork and history of the Canal Barges and Fairground Heritage. I passed a scholarship to study Sign Writing and Heritage Design, but my Mum refused to let me go. After being made redundant I returned to my first love and now work from home as well as attending Steam

Rallies and Vintage Fairs across Cornwall in the summer. Even as a very young child stories of traditional crafts handed down the generations from far-flung corners of the world intrigued me and I wanted to try them all. I love the colourful warmth of Folk Art and Decorative Painting, blended with the softness of Shabby Chic and French Vintage. I am inspired to bring together a Fusion of Folk Art, Vintage and Shabby styles, using a variety of craft skills, mostly involving Paint, Fabric and Yarn! I upcycle small unloved items, adding hand painted decorative details, and I add Folk inspired embroidery to cushions, pictures and soft furnishings, bringing you a range of gifts and home accessories that has affectionately become known as:
‘Folkerdashery – Folk Art with a Dash…which perfectly describes was I do!

So Brenda is safely back in the garden...now I've got access the decorate the outside!!! Thanks to all the Jems Rally organisers for keeping us safe ..the Rally is still on today with loads to see and do..just look at that sunshine ☀!
