Everlasting Wellness With Marie Sitting in Circle ⭕ with a group of like minded women is therapy for the mind, body & soul. ❤️ I am following my spiritual path and I steer away from drama.

My name is Marie Barnatt and I feel that I am on a journey into self-development and spiritual awakening. I like to spend time out doors in nature. I have a cockapoo named Bonnie and I enjoy nothing more than adventure's with her and my partner Darren. We love to meditate together, burn candles and snuggle up on the sofa. Recently we have found some amazing walks in the woods, rivers and along the local coastline. We love to watch the sunsets in various locations, collecting shells, moon bathing and star-gazing. Our future asperation, would be to set up couples retreats in a dream like location which we have yet to find.

What a lovely way to end a long day. 🌊❤️

This morning I walked into a room and met 9 expectant couples who were complete strangers to me, and mostly strangers to each other too.

There’s always something quite special about that first morning of an antenatal course. A few nerves, lots of questions and everyone wondering what the weekend is going to bring.

By the end of today, the room felt completely different. People were chatting, laughing, sharing experiences and, judging by the smiles as they left, genuinely looking forward to coming back tomorrow. 🥰

And now, after a full day of teaching, I’m sitting on the beach at Alum Chine, listening to the waves crashing onto the shore, with fish & chips for tea and absolutely nowhere else I need to be. 🌊🍟

Sometimes the simplest moments are the ones that make you stop and think… life is actually rather lovely.

Time to recharge my batteries ready for another day with my lovely couples tomorrow. ❤️

Happy Thursday 🥰

I've realised something about myself over the last 48 hours...

I really struggle with making decisions! 🙈
I've swung backwards and forwards like a pendulum, weighing up money, work, responsibilities, what I should do, what I want to do... and probably overthinking every possible outcome along the way. 😂

But somewhere amongst all that thinking, I've realised that making a good decision doesn't necessarily mean finding the option with no downside.

Sometimes there isn't one.

Sometimes it's about looking at what's in front of you, weighing up your options, considering what matters most to you at that moment and then having the confidence to make a choice.
And if circumstances change? It's okay to reconsider.

One decision I've made recently also meant putting a little boundary around my time and recognising that I don't always have to keep myself available just in case. An opportunity came along, I took it, and actually it turned out to be one of the best outcomes of the whole situation. 🥰

I'm still learning that putting myself first occasionally isn't selfish.

I'm still learning that I don't have to get every decision "right".

And I'm definitely still learning to trust my own judgement a little more.

Maybe that's the lesson for me this week...
You don't always need certainty to move forward. Sometimes you just need enough confidence to choose your next step. ❤️

And yes... I may still change my mind about something three times first! 😂🥰

Autumn has officially arrived in my home 🍂🎃🤎

I’ve finally brought out all my autumn decorations, and I’d forgotten just how much I love making the house feel cosy at this time of year.

A few pumpkins here, some autumn leaves there, fresh flowers on the table… and apparently I’ve created a little theme without even realising it:

Grateful • Thankful • Blessed 🥰

As the evenings start drawing in, there’s something rather lovely about making home feel warm and welcoming again.

Now all I need is a chilly evening, the candles lit and something comforting cooking in the kitchen. 🍁🕯️

Has anyone else brought their autumn decorations out yet, or am I early? 😂🎃

🐾 Bonnie’s first day out since her extractions 🐾

Today we ventured back down to the Hamble River — the same beautiful spot where I went paddleboarding a few weeks ago.

On the first Sunday of the month, a lovely group of ladies meet here for a walk, something Bonnie and I used to join regularly. With all the hot weather we’ve had, it’s been quite some time since we’ve been able to go along.

We gave it a try today, but Bonnie didn’t make it very far. 🥰 I think her medication is still making her quite drowsy, so rather than push her, I popped her back into the car and drove round to the café where the ladies usually stop for a comfort break, coffee and a catch-up. ☕️
Even that seemed a little too much for her today — lots of people, lots of noise and probably a bit overwhelming when she’s still recovering.

So we listened to what she was telling me and came home. ❤️

The cushions are out, the garden is peaceful, and we’re now spending the rest of our Sunday relaxing together in our own little sanctuary. 🌿🐶

Sometimes a day out doesn’t quite go to plan… but home can be exactly where you need to be. 🥰

🍂 Hello September 🍂

Just a little hint of Autumn creeping into my home today...

I'm not quite ready for the pumpkins yet 🎃😂, but with the 1st of September arriving, I couldn't resist creating this cosy little transitional corner on my sofa.

I've been a little quiet on here lately. Life has simply been busy, and I've been enjoying living it rather than feeling I have to document every part of it.

But I do love this time of year. 🍁

The subtle change in the light, the evenings beginning to draw in, cosy blankets appearing again and that feeling that a new season is just around the corner.

And perhaps the cushion says it best...
Grateful. 🤎

For where I've been, for where I am now, and for whatever this next season brings.

Happy 1st September everyone. 🍂

☀️ Today I chose some space.

Space to slow down.
Space to enjoy the sunshine.
Space to focus on me.
Space to protect my peace.

Sometimes self-care isn’t about doing more to improve ourselves. Sometimes it’s simply allowing ourselves to stop.

No guilt. No agenda. Just a little sunshine, stillness and gratitude for where I am today.
🤍
My peace deserves a place in my diary too. 🌿

Happy 🥰 wisdom Friday.

Have a great weekend x

BEFORE YOU TALK ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE'S FAILURES, MAKE SURE YOU'D BE COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR ENTIRE STORY BEING READ OUT LOUD.

Read that again.

Before you spread gossip about somebody's life, their mistakes, their failures, their struggles, or the chapters they're trying to heal from, remember something.

There are chapters of your life you don't want spoken out loud either.

There are decisions you've made that you're grateful weren't broadcast to the world.

There are mistakes you've made that you'd rather leave in the past.

There are moments of weakness, poor judgment, heartbreak, failure, and regret that you hope people show you grace for.

And that's exactly the point.

None of us want to be permanently judged by the worst chapter of our story.

Yet every day people do exactly that to someone else.

They take a mistake and make it someone's identity.

They take a difficult season and make it someone's reputation.

They take a failure and act like it's the entire story.

But life doesn't work that way.

People grow. People change. People heal. People learn. People recover. People overcome.

Read that again.

People overcome.

I've spent enough time in recovery to know that some of the strongest people you'll ever meet have stories they'd never wish on anyone. Some of the kindest people have survived battles nobody knows about. Some of the most successful people have chapters they aren't proud of.

If their worst moments had defined them forever, they never would've become who they are today.

That's why I've learned to be careful with how I speak about people.

Not because everyone is innocent.

Not because accountability doesn't matter.

But because humility matters too.

The truth is, every one of us has needed grace at some point.

Every one of us has needed forgiveness.

Every one of us has hoped someone would see beyond our mistakes and recognize the person we're trying to become.

The older I get, the less interested I become in discussing other people's failures.

I'd rather talk about growth.
I'd rather talk about healing.
I'd rather talk about redemption.

Because gossip says, "Look who they were."

Wisdom says, "Look who they're becoming."

So before you spread someone's story, ask yourself a simple question:

Would I want someone sharing the chapters of my life that I'm most ashamed of?

Because chances are, the answer is no.

And trust me...The people who are quickest to expose someone else's scars are usually praying nobody shines a light on their own.

🌿 Recipe Monday | Pantry Blessings 🌿

Sometimes the simplest foods can be some of the greatest gifts.

Today I was reminded of humble lentils. Tiny seeds that don't look like much, yet they're packed with nourishment, affordable, easy to store, and wonderfully versatile.

With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a comforting meal that feeds both body and soul, often with enough left over for another day.

I love that nature provides us with foods that are full of life. Plant a seed and watch it grow. Prepare it with love and share it around the table. There's something deeply satisfying about returning to simple, wholesome ingredients that have nourished generations before us.

Wellness doesn't have to be expensive or complicated. Sometimes it begins with opening the cupboard, choosing what you've been given, and creating something beautiful from it.

God's creation has a wonderful way of providing exactly what we need, reminding us that abundance is often found in the simplest of places.

Simple ingredients.
Simple nourishment.
Simple blessings.

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him." — Psalm 34:8 🙏

Have you cooked with lentils before? I'd love to hear your favourite way to enjoy them in the comments. 🌱

Happy Sunday 🥰

Some days have a way of reminding us that life holds both sorrow and kindness at the very same time.

Today my heart was heavy. I was worrying that I hadn't done enough for a family in our church who have recently lost their daughter. I was reminded that grief is something none of us can fix with the right words, only walk alongside with love and prayer.

Then I came home.

Hanging on my door handle was a bunch of flowers picked from someone's garden. Some were standing tall, others were already beginning to droop, but every stem had been chosen with care.

It made me think...

Kindness doesn't always arrive wrapped in perfection.

Sometimes it arrives a little weathered because it's been waiting patiently for us to come home.

Maybe that's how grace works too.

It doesn't always meet us when everything is in order. Sometimes it finds us after a difficult week, when we're tired, carrying guilt, or wondering if we've got anything right at all.

And quietly it whispers...

"You are thought of."

If today has been heavy for you, I pray that you notice one small kindness before the day is over.

It may be all your heart needs to remember that hope is still blooming.

Life really is a journey, and every season teaches us something new.

Yesterday my computer was hacked.

Today I spent two hours cleaning before finding an elderly gentleman outside who had fallen and was struggling. Seeing his white stick, I realised immediately that his vision was impaired. I helped him back to his flat, settled him on his bed, got him a drink, something to eat, a cool flannel for his forehead, and called for help.

As I left, my phone pinged.

"Insufficient funds."

My bank account had somehow been closed.

For a moment I thought, "Oh, what now?"

But something was different.

I didn't panic.

I called my eldest son, who gently reminded me to stay calm, stay safe, and focus on driving. I came home, greeted an excited Bonnie, called the bank, and discovered I needed to travel into Portsmouth to sort everything out.

In 38-degree heat, it was the last place I wanted to be.

Yet somehow, I navigated it all.

As I reflected on the day, I realised something. The challenges haven't disappeared from my life, but my response to them has changed.

Growth isn't measured by a life without problems.

It's measured by how we walk through them.

Sometimes we only recognise how far we've come when life presents us with a situation that would once have completely overwhelmed us, and we find ourselves responding with a little more patience, a little more faith, and a little more peace.

Every season has something to teach us.

Today, I am grateful for that lesson. 🌿
