My first proper knitting project is (finally) finished!

I’ve always wanted to learn to knit, but could never commit and found it too hard every time I tried even a simple knit stitch. So, for my new year’s resolution I decided to give it a proper go and safe to say, I sussed it out!

I used the same planning process I have used before when crocheting jumpers; 2 squares, 2 ‘tubes’ and some ribbing, and did some research on how to do this in knitting.

I’m so proud of myself lowkey, I’ve always wanted to be able to knit my own jumpers, and now I’m excited to make another I’m obsessed! Considering the yarn I used has a wool %, it is WARM. Maybe not the best idea to give it its debut on the hottest day of the year so far. Lesson learnt :/

I used 2 different shades of Hobbycraft’s “Leader of the Pac” yarn, held double with Hobbycraft’s “Tiny friends” in the shades that matched it closest. I think the slight variation in colour between the two strands gives it such a cool look! I also used 12mm interchangeable needles with a 80cm cord the body and a 25(??) cm cord for the cuffs.

☘️I realised earlier that I never posted any pics of my market stall from back in JUNE (Only 4 months late whoops) at The Alexander Centre, Faversham.

This stall was themed for pride month and was my first in-person selling event which was super exciting!

While I didn’t profit and get as much engagement as I hoped going in, I found this experience so enjoyable and exciting, plus an idea of what works and what doesn’t so my next market can be even better!

Special thanks for my fabulous assistant for helping me on the day🫶•

•After starting this scarf back in April LAST YEAR when I brought the tickets, then neglecting it until a week before the concert, I actually got my Clancy scarf/stole reading in time to wear to Clancy N1 at the o2!

I’m really proud of how this scarf turned out, despite being much shorter than the stitchfiddle pattern I followed (creds to for the pattern) I found the whole process pretty easy and would definitely say it’s a good practice for colour changing!🫶

I love how this turned out, and I’m glad that I managed it in time. The concert was so good n I wish I could go back already 🥲

Made using 4mm hook and beige/ cream and black acrylic yarn :)

💙This is the only social I have yet to post my M&G photos on so it’s about time I share my recent project.💙

•I brought my tickets back in July and from then I knew I wanted to make something to take along with me to show them!

•I decided on plushies and made them using a combination of Crochet (body and shirt), sewing (for the jeans), Vinyl cutting on my circuit (for the texture on the shirt and their eyes) and felting (for the texture of the back of their heads).

•The plushies and the “pattern” is completely custom but I do intend on remaking these soon so I can write them up!

•I was unsure on whether I was able to gift them, however after I posed the question they seemed more than happy that I said they could keep them! Very surreal to think that they own something I’ve made now. I’ve been watching them since 2015 so it’s a full circle moment being able to meet them and show them my work. Amazing night, Amazing show, Amazing company it couldn’t have gone better 🫶

YARN USED 🧶
• Tiny friends in “palest peach”, misc dark brown cotton and misc light “blonde” with a size 3 hook for all.

•I’ve been experimenting with sewing recently and have finished my first (proper) project/commission!

•This chalk bag was made using a pair of old Levi jeans. All aspects of the jeans were repurposed, including the belt loops, the badge, the waistband and one of the back pockets. This bag has seperate adjustable belt, aswell as a space for a carabiner so that it can easily be attached while you climb! I’ve also included an elastic drawstring-esk feature so that when the chalk is in the bag, it will be secure inside when not in use.

•I’m honestly so proud of the final result, and will most likely be making another soon for either myself or as a gift to someone. This project took about 6-7 hours to complete.

•Big thank you to the boyf for getting the pics of the bag in action, hope you like it and use it enough to make the struggle of assembling it worth it 😭x

•An “Unrelated to Crochet” post but I wanted to share these cute keyrings I made for those on my course for our graduation.
•I recently brought a Cricut Joy Xtra and wanted to make small keepsakes to commemorate our graduation day.
•I used permanent sticker vinyl in the colours black, silver and gold. The acrylic keychains are from Amazon, and so is the vinyl as I couldn’t get ahold of cricut branded in the colours needed 🫶
•The design is my own, made using cricut design space. It’s been posted on design space under the Madebyklaws name 😜

•I didn’t manage to give them all out so if you’re a course mate seeing this and didn’t get one from me, I have one for you! 🤞

Charmander! This may be my favourite one so far 🫣 I feel like it turned out so cute, and I’m excited to see how charmeleon/Charizard will turn out! The grid for this was found via Pinterest.

3/151‼️

The first evolution “set” has been finished! I’m very very happy with how this Venusaur turned out, despite how intensive and fiddly the colour work was 😭

In order to keep it scaled with the other 2 I’ve already made, I had to “zoom in” the reference so it was 24x24, which is why he looks a bit squished inside the grid box 😭😭
