Just braved a walk down the garden to take washing to the tumble dryer….everything has been buffeted by these very strong winds and some of my poor tete-a-tete narcissi were lying horizontally! So I bought them indoors to enjoy and keep them alive for a bit longer! It’s all meant to die down at around 6pm ….let’s hope so!

A very productive day today….buoyed up by Zapain (as my back was a bit sore) planted 100 snowdrop bulbs, mainly in the lawn by the paths. Some of the bulbs still had their flowers clinging onto life so I rescued them and bought them inside and out them in one of my favourite old ink bottles 💕 made tomato and basil soup ….very delicious and a few red roses ….now 10 days old and still going strong! Lots of birds busy in the garden today too ….the robin joined me when I was digging and I heard the green woodpecker in the orchard…..love days like this….so simple and calm 💕

Had an awesome afternoon yesterday…met friends for coffee at the lovely in cliftonville, Margate then went to for a fascinating talk on art, wellbeing @ spirituality and a look at the beautiful art work by international artist Govinda Sah ‘“Azad”too. The Ark is a beautiful, atmospheric former synagogue that is now a cultural community space…would definitely recommend a visit

Little beauties …..planted these dwarf Iris “Frozen Planet” bulbs last October….never grown them before but will definitely be looking for more colours for next spring ….. I think they are lovely and add some nice colour to the patio when there’s not much else around 💕

Frosty morning here today ……currently-6.5!! Two blackbirds waiting to be fed ……we feed our garden birds from first light with seed, mealworms, peanuts and fat balls …..we get so many birds in the garden, I could sit and watch them all day 💕 we also put warm water out for them to drink too as it’s just as important for them as the food. Love this time of the year

Winter’s dusk tonight …..it’s been a beautiful sunny but freezing cold day but not too cold for one of our cats Treacle, who loves to sleep in one of our greenhouses….so much so that she has her own cat flap in the door so she can come and go even in the depths of winter…..😊🐾💕

Feeling extra grateful for my wood burner this afternoon….it’s cold & wet outside but very cosy in here! Had a double load of logs delivered today so should be okay until spring now 🤞🏻just enjoying the Christmas decorations for one last evening before they come down on Twelfth Night tomorrow ….
